Spoilers The Strange New Worlds Starship Thread™

It created the mold that we've clung to for the last 56 years.
Indeed, to our detriment it seems. We've grown inflexible perhaps in our view of starships rather than exploring new ideas.

TOS and SNW stand side by side. I love them in different ways now, ships included.
Except now we’re supposed to believe that it never actually existed, and the Discoprise was the real thing. Even though other new Trek shows being produced by the same company don’t follow this logic.
Dramatic license allows for reinterpretation not strict literal history.

Neither TOS nor SNW happened or existed. To me, they are dramatic interpretations of in universe events.

You're free to believe whatever you like. I doubt that what you believe is very much on their minds when they make aesthetic decisions.

1. I know that I’m free to believe whatever I like. I’ve made that abundantly clear on several occasions.

2. Since no fans’ wants are on their minds when they make aesthetic decisions, I’ll take your statement as a non sequitor.

This is over a month old, so apologies if it was posted somewhere. A look at the S2 Enterprise bar/lounge/galley set.

You mean like an average of all four designs?

Please do this but with the Enterprise D and Enterprise E. I need to see this these two ships perfectly merged.

No, that’s just an advanced kitbash. Stop replying with messages trying to prevent me from seeing a merge of the two ships using the program used to make the Averageprise

Chill. No one is here to fulfill your demands. Nor does anyone care enough about what you want to "sabotage" your wishes.

Taking that attitude isn't going to make anyone want to help you out in any way at all.

So stop it. Now.

You're not "supposed" to believe anything. It's a work of fiction. In TOS, the Enterprise looks one way. In SNW, it looks another. If you really need to reconcile the two, just consider that in a post-scarcity society, maybe Starfleet is okay with doing radical redesigns when they're doing substantive refits every now and then just because someone liked the aesthetic.

Indeed. Fiction is nice like that.

Considering that the newest showrunners apparently don’t know how to reconcile the difference between the two designs (having both the TOS and DSC versions as background artwork), it seems I’m not the only one questioning this decision.

So what?
