Plenty of wiggle room in that statement to make it completely open to interpretation.
FWIW, in the "Legends" continuity (comics etc.) Jango and Boba were certainly Mandalorians.

It would be nice if such a bland character would stay dead.I don’t want Boba Fett to show up. Let’s just assume he died.
The Mandalorian is POST SW:RotJ - so Boba Fett is dead - eaten by the Sarlac on Tantooine (at least per the on screen film evidence). The only way I would want Boba Fett to show up is if it involved him getting killed by the Mandalorian.
In my world, Boba Fett is still being digested by the Sarlacc.
Good riddance.

No, there's enough differences between them that it looks like a different set of armor. That's Jango's armor with a custom Boba paint job isn't it?
I could go either way honestly. Given that he was in an armoured, weaponized spacesuit complete with jetpack, it's not inconceivable that he got out. So in my mind if there's a *good* story to tell then I'm fine with him surviving. Otherwise, yeah; best to leave him in there.I don’t want Boba Fett to show up. Let’s just assume he died.
Nope.Anyone surprised?
As we now see, it totally could have been though.Cute did not really seem to be apart of their marketing plan.
because why notI see no reason why.
I see no benefit.because why not
Jango’s armour was destroyed between Episode 2 and ESB (or at least the helmet was). Boba’s armour is his own. That's Jango's armor with a custom Boba paint job isn't it?
If George didn’t want them to be Mandalorian’s, I can’t see any future writers changing that. Not while he’s still alive.Plenty of wiggle room in that statement to make it completely open to interpretation.
Yeah, I from what I've read, there's apparently a scene in one of the Aftermath books where someone is wandering around in the Tatooiine desert and comes across Boba Fett's beat up, empty, armor. Which then opens up the question of whether or not Boba was still in it when the Sarlacc spit it out.
