Spoilers The Mandalorian | Disney+ | Streaming Nov. 12

The only way I would want Boba Fett to show up is if it involved him getting killed by the Mandalorian.
The Mandalorian is POST SW:RotJ - so Boba Fett is dead - eaten by the Sarlac on Tantooine (at least per the on screen film evidence).

Yeah, I from what I've read, there's apparently a scene in one of the Aftermath books where someone is wandering around in the Tatooiine desert and comes across Boba Fett's beat up, empty, armor. Which then opens up the question of whether or not Boba was still in it when the Sarlacc spit it out.

That's Jango's armor with a custom Boba paint job isn't it?
No, there's enough differences between them that it looks like a different set of armor.
Also IIRC I think we see Jango's helmet get destroyed in TCW as part of a trap for Windu.
There was going to be more Boba episodes before the show was cancelled that seemed to have shown him (incidentally) acquiring the new helmet at least and maybe some of the other pieces too.
I don’t want Boba Fett to show up. Let’s just assume he died.
I could go either way honestly. Given that he was in an armoured, weaponized spacesuit complete with jetpack, it's not inconceivable that he got out. So in my mind if there's a *good* story to tell then I'm fine with him surviving. Otherwise, yeah; best to leave him in there.

Just to be clear though, the only reason I'm even interested in the character isn't because of how cool any mysterious he was in the OT, but the trajectory Lucas and Filloni had him on in TCW. Here you have this kid, literally created to be a walking talking legacy for his father, orphaned and taken in by the likes of Aurra Sing, Bossk and Cad Bane. Ironically Bossk seemed to be the only one that actually liked the kid since the former was trying to mould him into another version of her just as his father did, while the latter was using the kid to settle a point of pride and ego to find out who was the best bounty hunter in the galaxy; Jango or Cad.
We never got the see the middle part of that story, but we know the end result is that he ends up being the most notoriously vicious and needlessly violent bounty hunter around.
I mean a Sith Lord had to warn him to tone it down. That kinda says everything about how damaged of a person he became.

There's plenty of pathos there about identity, purpose, revenge and legacy that could make for a good post RotJ story. I just don't want them to do what the EU did any mythologise him into some two dimensional hyper-capable anti-hero cliche.

Ever since I was a kid, I never liked the idea of Boba surviving. But that said, when a creature takes that long to digest its food, there's a lot of possibility for escape.

Old Boba never interested me. New Boba (with all the backstory now in place from The Clone Wars) I wouldn't be completely opposed to seeing again.

Jango’s armour was destroyed between Episode 2 and ESB (or at least the helmet was). Boba’s armour is his own.

Plenty of wiggle room in that statement to make it completely open to interpretation.
If George didn’t want them to be Mandalorian’s, I can’t see any future writers changing that. Not while he’s still alive.

Yeah, a sheriff found a set of acid scarred armour on a sandcrawler.
