Spoilers The Mandalorian | Disney+ | Streaming Nov. 12

Some sites are speculating that it might be a Doctor Aphra series, but if it's set in a different time, that would seem to preclude her. (I also saw a site or two phrase it as "a different timeline", which is straight up alternate universe/alternate history type of stuff, so for now, this show is a mystery and could be anything.)

Totally looking forward to this. Great trailer:

It's not clear how much time is needed to consider a show to be in a different time period. I'm hoping it's an Ashoka/Sabine live action series set after The Mandalorian. We would meet them in Mandalorian season 2.

I tend to think of a time period as existing between two defining moments that herald a sea change. So you get the pre-war prequel era (rather nebulous right now, but pretty much everything we know about from the last few centuries prior to TPM up until AotC), the Clones Wars era ('nuff said), the Rise of the Empire (everything from RotS to RO/ANH), the civil war era (basically all of the OT), the New Republic era (everything post RotJ up until the New Republic splits and Luke pulls his vanishing act), and of course the Resistance and "whatever the fucks happens next" eras for the ST and beyond.

Personally I'm hoping for something Old Republic related, or at least High Republic...or failing that a show based around Sabé as an agent of the rebellion/mentor to tween age Leia. Is Keira Knightley doing anything these days? ;)

Now even if the Ahsoka casting rumours are true, and it seems likely they're giving her her own show...the idea of anyone but Dave Filloni running it just doesn't make any sense.

Lately Marvel released a series of "Age of" comics based around characters from the different movies series, and I think I've seen the same names used in other places, so I think they might be the official names.
Age of Republic - Prequels and Clone Wars
Age of Rebellion - Original Trilogy
Age of Resistance - Sequel Trilogy
We've also got the High Republic stuff coming up, so I'm thinking that could be considered it's own era.

Watched it. Liked it. A couple little fantastic behind the scenes filming things scattered throughout. The right amount from every director too. (Though honestly maybe needed a bit more from Favreau, but if he's going to be in all 8 episodes, that'll probably seem right.)

Deborah Chow bringing the right attitude to the Obi-Wan series: "can I kill some more Stormtroopers?"

Taika funny as ever. Dave's story great too.

Could have devoted maybe an extra 60 seconds talking about those 3 X-Wing pilots from episode 6.

I enjoyed the Directing episode. Really enjoyed the various stories, especially coming from Howard. I've only known her from Jurassic World, but her segment about the emotional connection she has with the people she directs was really cool.

How many familes have had multiple members involved in Star Wars?
I know we have the Lucases with George, Marcia, Jeff, Amanda, and Katie all involved in different ways
We had Denis Lawson and his nephew, Ewan McGregor as actors.
Both Ron and Bryce Dallas Howard have been involved as directors.
Are there any others?

Peyton Reed and Robert Rodriguez have both tweeted today confirming that they've each directed an episode of season 2!

Wow, the level of directors who they've gotten for The Mandalorian is incredible. I guess there must be a lot of people who jump at the chance to direct Star Wars, no matter the format.
Carrie Fisher & Billie Lourd and Warwick & Harrison Davis.
I can't believe I forgot about Carrie Fisher and Billie Lord.:brickwall:
What is Harrison Davis's relation to Warwick?
Mark and Nathan Hamill.
Nathan Hamill?

Two things from the Mandalorian BTS:

- I loved how "man on the street" sounding the guy in the Mando armor was

- Was the darksaber somehow practical? That looked pretty cool.

I saw an article where Gina Carano was very effusive in her praise of Howard for her empathy and working with her as an actress.
