Spoilers Supernatural Season 15--the final season

We still don't know what created Chuck and Amara. Perhaps it's that entity that gets awoken?

I do wonder if the Empty is related to Chuck. He said Chuck doesn't have any reach or sway in his realm. Only thing that can prevent Chuck from doing that is something on the same power level, like Amara.

I guess we're just not going to get an answer as to why Castiel's powers were failing at the top of the season. It seemed like it happened, then was promptly forgotten after a few incidents. So...yeah.

The way they told the story this week was a little odd...in some ways I prefer the traditional way, with the different viewpoints intercut with each other. But there's definitely something to be said for going all the way through a single viewpoint until it runs its course, and then shifting to show the same time frame from another perspective.

Though of course, the hardest part about tonight's show was where it ended...the last couple of minutes when Chuck was yelling and screaming were genuinely heart-pounding and had me hooked. I was legitimately surprised when the producer credit came up, it did NOT seem like it had been an hour. This episode gripped me in much the same way the season 6 finale did...and we've still got three more until The End.

Don't forget! Only three left. :wah:

Wow, so...that happened.

I have to say, Cas' death rang REALLY hollow. When a character's death plays like a diabolus ex machina like it did here, it just falls flat. His speech to Dean was moving, but for some reason it just didn't seem to resonate like some of the other Big Speeches have in the series. I would've preferred that Cas go out in a blaze of glory, kind of like how Gadreel did at the end of season 9, but...that's just me.

Holy FUCK that was sad.

Chuck is erasing EVERYONE, not just Apocalypse World people....everyone.

Castiel's Big Goodbye had me in tears...and he even left Tne Hand print on him, just like the first time they met.

The hand print was a nice touch. Cas’s speech didn’t do anything for me. He always “dies” anyway.
I wonder what Chuck is doing by rapturing everyone? Sounds very interesting

And this is why shows need to be very careful about pulling the resurrection card. Once death becomes little more than an inconvenience it loses all dramatic impact. Can anyone here -- without looking it up -- tell me how many times Castiel has died so far? I certainly can't. Okay, yeah, this is probably his final death (although they could undo it all in the finale) and it should be emotional, but how many times have we seen Dean cry over Castiel's death? No, seriously, I'm asking. I'm thinking it must be at least 5 times by now. I'm just bored with it.

Supernatural can still tug then 'ol heartstrings when it tries (I spent most of Lebanon as a blubbery mess), but this just didn't do it for me.

And for the love of Chuck, stop killing Eileen. Why did they even bother bringing her back from the dead just to kill her off offscreen? This was just sad.

That's a good question. I'm sure that can't be the first time he's shed a tear, but I don't think he's ever turned the waterworks on full blast before. That was full-on anime crying.

I knew it. I knew Cass would be a goner. But that was a pretty amazing scene when he summed up all the growth he's gone through from his first appearance as a naive and bumbling Angel to his pinnacle as a compassionate father figure, and attributed it all to Dean-- which brought him the moment of happiness that he was able to use to take Billie into the Empty with him. A nice payoff for that deal with the Empty that he made to save Jack.

And Billie-- man, she went totally nuts there at the end. She was scary, but it was also hilarious that Dean Winchester was her biggest bugaboo and the one item on Death's bucket list was to take him down. :rommie: Now that's two Deaths that Dean has killed. I wonder who the next one will be.

And so Chuck was really the one making people disappear-- first the ones from other realities, then Sam and Dean's friends. But what about those scenes of empty swings and whatnot? Has Chuck emptied the whole world of people, save for Sam and Dean and Jack? It was nice to see Bobby and Charlie and Donna again. For a minute.

The Empty kind of went nuts there, too, when Jack blew her up and it was so LOUD. Which makes me wonder what will happen to Cass and Billie over there. It's not impossible that both will return before things are over. Or at least in a reunion movie.

Come to think of it, before she got scythed, Billie read the new ending to Chuck's book and said, "Interesting." Does that mean that she knew what was about to happen to her and Cass, or did the Winchester Boys screw things up again?

Castiel once said that his true form was 1000 feet tall with the head of a lion.

Head of a lion?

Dean is into anime smut.

He could work with that?

The many deaths of Castiel, from the top of my head...

He was killed by Raphael in "Lucifer Rising".

He was killed by Lucifer in "SWAN SONG".

He was obliterated by the Leviathans leaving him in "HELLO, CRUEL WORLD".

He was killed by Lucifer in "ALL ALONG THE WATCHTOWER".

Completely wrong. That was Zachariah. He described himself as "having four faces, one of which is lion," and he has six feathered wings. Castiel has two wings and described himself as a "multidimensional wavelength of celestial intent," and "roughly the size of the Chrysler Building."

I don’t know if it was Cas saying he loved Dean. I took it to mean he loved all of humanity.

A great episode. And very appropriately titled. Everyone getting killed, Castiel sacrificing himself to save Dean.

And speaking of that scene... wow. Just wow. That's the first time Castiel broke into tears like that. And saying he loved Dean. I was shedding a single man tear through that scene. And Dean just lying in the corner, sobbing... poor guy.

A very nice touch with the handprint on Dean, which was a great callback to his handprint when Castiel saved him from hell.

A shame Eileen was killed offscreen, but I guess the budget likely wouldn't allow for even more guest stars. It worked out, though, because you see just how shook Sam is, and that silent exchange between him and Dean spoke volumes.

I'm curious what that meant with the plantband Jack. If he's powerless, what happened there? That obviously has a role in the end.

And Bobby. I have always had a soft spot for Bobby, and watching him die again just hurts. Even though this Bobby is different than original Bobby, it still hurts. Charlie and Donna, too.

If the empty gas station and playground is any indication, it looks like Chuck just deleted everyone else. Did he do the same with all the monsters, too? Vampires, werewolves, ghouls, djinn, dragons, rougaru, etc.? Or did he leave them there just to have the boys severely outnumbered and get one final bit of entertainment before he offs the world?

Only 2 episodes left.

According to the episode preview on the radio chuck is leaving them to rot as the only people left on earth.
