They'll be varying the credits from week to week, if the other Kurtzman-era series thus far are anything to go by. Best to give us the unadorned visuals up front, and I'm good with those!
Beautiful, just beautiful. I never would've thought I would be this excited for an adventure-of-the week style space exploration recipe again, but these visuals and the modern and heroic remix of the original TOS theme were all the encouragement I needed. Can't wait to see Pike, Spock, Una and all the others in action soon. Yeah, I know I'm still way behind on all the character teasers because of how many fandoms I'm juggling at once, but I think this intro has just gave me the final push to binge through them for my dinner.
There was also a special BTS Ready Room episode devoted to SNW posted today: [It has a "This Season On SNW..." trailer as it's last bit too ]
That is epic fangasm material! If this is any indication of what the general sound track will be like then I am very excited indeed. The Enterprise looks beautiful.
Well...visually its nice. The monologue got me pumping...then the theme started playing. I don't know why so many people like the intro theme...they really shouldve just done an updated but unaltered version of the TOS or Cage theme rather than make the theme sound generic. The generic sound is becoming quite tiresome in Star Trek these days, and honestly I want a theme I can remember and hum. This ain't it, chief! But I'll still watch the series regardless, I just question some of your opinions on this theme.
A theme is a theme. It's got to pop very differently for me to hum. Star Trek ain't it. This one is like the rest-good enough. Like most intros I will hit "Skip." Perhaps.
Am I alone in feeling kind of let down? I thought that this was Jeff Russo's weakest theme yet. When you compare it to Giacchino's rendition of the TOS theme, this just feels very blah.
(and I don't mind the ENT theme - but it doesn't work here - especially since the person who edited it introduced stuttering video to alter the timing throughout to make the 1701 warp out match the warp out sound effect in the ENT theme sequence. Very sloppy way to do it and it stands out badly.) YMMV of course.
I like the very subtle movie music themes thrown in toward the end. And the visual quotes from Voyager’s openings.
