I'd say more than one but honestly I think una is toast regardless of whatever they come up for La'an or Ortegas. And I say that because with respect to TOS S1 The Menagerie, were she still alive she would have been helping Spock in some fashion to help return Pike to Talos IV.
Who's to say she didn't and Spock didn't take all the blame for himself? That or Spock just never told anyone Uhura, Chapel and M'Benga would all also help too and they're alive.

Plus, she's shown as very committed to Starfleet, so the fact that her and Spock never run into each other throughout the entire run of TOS or the later feature film era of TOS, pretty much indicates she has to be dead, or completely removed from this universe/reality in some fashion.

I just hope they make it a nice sacrifice where she does something to save a lot of people or the entire ship. If they're going to kill the character she at least deserves that type of send-off.
No, it indicates the writers of TOS and the movies didn’t think to include her. At best we see snippets of these characters lives. The vast majority is unknown to us. Pike’s crew could have annual reunions on Talos IV for all we know. Una could have her own plan to help Pike in the Menagerie but was beaten to the punch by Spock. She also could have been visiting Pike regularly after his accident, we (and Spock) just caught Pike on a day she wasn’t.

I’m not sure I like the idea that Spock’s plan in “The Menagerie” was an Oceans Eleven style caper. Having Spock go lone wolf as to not get anyone else (or as few people as possible) in trouble feels more correct.

Una and her crew probably showed up and found Pike gone and Spock the prime suspect. They probably stuck around to watch the broadcast from Talos IV. Una might have left the room before the WOMEN! wound up planetside ;)

Well, the fact that Kirk hadn't heard what happened to Pike despite the fact that there had been "sub-space chatter for months" about it, and Kirk's communications officer was also Pike's communications officer does lend to the notion that Uhura was in on it.

I do think one of them will die: La’an. She’s had mounting death flags from the beginning, and my shot-in-the-dark guess is that “Once La’an a Time” is going to open with a fanciful and friendly tone but take a dramatic twist midway and close out with her funeral.

Ortegas, though? Nah, she’ll be off flying another ship.

Erica Ortegas gets promoted and assigned to another starship, finishing her career as an accomplished and respected helmsman and pilot. That's my head canon and I'm sticking to it.

She's working at the Academy at the time TWOK happens. She's in a simulator room or office just offscreen when Kirk and Spock are walking down the hallway and having their conversation. :shifty:

Khan (while in sickbay reading the Enterprise library computer the Una recruitment ads while also learning her career stalled due to her augment status): Hypocrites

Final scene should have the Enterprise in a spacedock. Getting ready for a refit. We the audience know it will be to make the ship look like it did on TOS. You will have Pike on the bridge all by himself. Taking in one last look at his ship. He will be leaving soon due to promotion. As he is ready to leave he notices some engineers walk in carrying some circuit boards with 60's looking blinkies on them. We then here the TOS theme start playing as the Turbolift doors close around him. The end.

Erica Ortegas leads a group of Cadets in a flying demonstration of the Kolvoord Starburst maneuver at the Starfleet Academy during a commencement ceremony....
