That feels like "Lazy Writing" and relying on a form of "Deus Ex Machina" instead of logical believable conclusions to a story.

I have noticed that in my experience, nine times out of 10 "lazy writing" equates to "that's not what I wanted them to do.".

I sometimes miss my old Remington. But I don’t think anyone’s dissertation would be flawless if forced to be written at the pace of television scripts. Certainly mine wouldn’t (not that it’s shaping up to be flawless with a much longer timeframe).

It doesn't. And it has always always always resorted to fantasy and magical explanations since the beginning.

Actually, two or three episodes of SNW have paid a bit more attention to science concepts than seven years of DS9.

But what Trek has always adopted as a baseline is the enlightenment posture that the Universe is knowable and can be understood through reason. And that's close enough to science, I suppose.

The needs of the plot outweigh the needs of the science? Oh sure, but keep it plausible AND entertaining.

I prefer hard SF like Kim Stanley Robinson, who writes a plausible and entertaining tale. Try reading 'The Lucky Strike'.

From my experiences, threesomes aren't all the thing folks think they are cracked up to be.

There's almost always one that's gets the greatest amount of attention, which can at times, leave the experience wanting.

And it is almost never as 'staged' as it is in the porn videos.

The best ones I've been involved with weren't the mixed sex ones, because it's pretty much equal time for everybody, when everyone comes to the party with the same equipment.

Yeah, you can see its starboard nacelle bottom right. Also Kirk is in the preview pictures

Hard to see two starship saucers together like that and not see the NX-01 and NX-02 flying in tandem with Trip scaling a cable connecting the two.

I bet next season Kirk is assigned to the Enterprise on temporary assignment. Eventually he selected over Una to replace Pike when he is made Fleet Captain. We know she won't be kicked out of Starfleet so it might be something like how she wants to go teach at the Academy or something.
