Lwaxana Troi was on the Enterprise-D all the time and she was in 6 out of 176 episodes.
What I'm saying is that they find loopholes to bend continuity without breaking it. They promoted Pike to fleet captain for an episode just so they could do what they wanted to do, instead of going with the most obvious implication from the dialogue in the Menagerie. It's pretty strongly implied that Spock never let himself have a relationship with Chapel before TOS because he wasn't able to let his emotional control go, but he never said it outright so the writers are free to play!
Scotty admits to having a sneaking admiration for Khan in Space Seed. I wonder if Scotty will ask La'An about him or if he'll realize that that's not something she necessarily wants to talk about?

It's in the Prime Universe because they intentionally wanted to fill in the backstories of characters we already know and love. Characters that were honestly not terribly developed to begin with. Making SNW part of those characters lives, does nothing but enrich personal development of those legacy characters. It makes the stories actually matter.
Also, as I've mentioned before, there's a certain segment of the fandom that would automatically view anything not of the Prime timeline as being something of lesser importance. They would use it as a litmus test as to whether or not somebody is a True Fan.
We've seen it on this very forum.
So what? I've always thought this type of reasoning is Bonkers. Just because I know the destination, doesn't mean I can't enjoy the ride to get there. It makes that final destination all the more impactful.
Having Kirk visit the Enterprise doesn't violate any kind of continuity in any way shape or form.
So basically what your complaint is that they’re not matching YOUR expectations for what should happen. They may be playing around a little bit with expectations, but Kirk did meet Pike when he was promoted to fleet captain. Chapel did have feelings for Spock and as seen in a few episodes, Spock did care about Chapel. Nowhere did TOS say they never had a relationship.

Because if they'd changed the tracks they could've gone to any destination they wanted.
Agreed. They've already added extra context to The Naked Now, What Are Little Girls Made Of? and Amok Time (and will hopefully do the same for This Side of Paradise before they're done) that make each of those episodes much more emotionally impactful.
How dare a show try and do such a thing.
Hell, Din Djarin is in 2-1/2 out of 7 episodes of a series that isn't even his and hijacked the whole show. 
Heh... That may be too deep a cut for SNW, but it might make for a an interesting side-conversation in a character study moment.
That kind of side comment or conversation is right up my alley when it comes to deep cuts. I don't think it'll happen, but it's not the worst thing La'an and Scotty could do.
Even with how relaxed and personable La'an seems to be becoming this season, I don't see such a conversation with her turning out well for the one who starts it.
