Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

Is that SpongeBob commercial pretty new? I just saw it on Pluto TV and it was quite fun. Nothing special or anything, but I like the randomness of the crossover.

Holy shit, he's going on about the bridge being offset at 36 degrees. That's actually a thing? I thought that thread we had in our TOS forum was just silliness.
Oh, it's most definitely a thing and has been debated since fans started making their own blueprints in the 60s and again when the original STAR TREK Technical Manual and official 1701 blueprints (I still have my original copies of each bought back in 1975) became available.

One season could be a 24-hour Earth day.

Cross discussion from the Litverse section.

But the official spelling for La'an's name might be with the second A being capitalized.

Nearly every article on the official website that mentions her capitalizes it, every twitter post I can find from CBS/Paramount that mentions her capitalizes it (posts from before and after the show started), and James Swallow said he was requested to write it that way in his new book. A previous novel also used it.

the Paramount+ Press page also capitalizes it

"Christina Chong as La’An Noonien-Singh,"

Edit: I just checked the subtitles on Paramount+, and it's the same there.

I'm not sure how I feel about that, it just looks...wrong.

I don't remember if any of the graphics that showed her name were in all caps or not.
Only one I can remember is the PADD from S1E1, and it was in all caps.

I think all the computer screens are usually written in all caps.

I wonder if her mother, Sa'an, is also intended to be the same. But the only source of her name is the same PADD from Episode 1, so hard to say.
