Well, there is still forty new episodes in the can across the Trek franchise. Ten episodes of Lower Decks, premiering in a few weeks. Ten episodes of Disco coming sometime in 2024. And twenty episodes of Prodigy which we're probably 95% guaranteed to get. That's close to a year's worth of new content right there. Hopefully by the time that's aired, the strikes will be resolved and SNW will at least be filming.

Hell, I never even watched the movie for the very first time until well after my first episodes of the series.

It is very strange to be sure.

Then G. Wood shows up in the pilot episode. It's quite interesting if a bit of a record scratch along with the rest of tone of the series, especially early on.

I would normally cancel P+ at this time (since SNW is done) and re-activate when Disco final season starts. But I liked the TOS episode so much that I decided to keep it and watch the new season of LD.

the concept art is dated 2260, so either he made a mistake or season 1 was originally set in 2260 during the pre-production stage

I was going to ask if it was a coincidence that some of those designs looked like Star Trek V / VI because they would have aiming for the same goal of "updating TOS phasers". Then I saw the "pop up targeting system" and I realized that there isn't much that these people don't know about the history of Star Trek phasers.

I've been saying since Disco that if they could make the sets and ships as evocative of TOS as the hand props are they would have something really amazing looking. SNW has moved closer to that mark.

Here's something interesting, those who got the XL Eaglemoss DSC Enterprise, we saw part of an early version of the Bridge in the booklet for it. Came out January 2019 at the start of DSC Season 2

what links them together the most is whatever those lines and circles are on the floor (I think the one in front of the view screen might be a holo projector)

The concept art for the full bridge is dated August 2017, before DSC Season 1 started airing, before Season 2 was even greenlit. While the images are in the Season 2 page, they're labelled as Season 1 preliminary work. Which makes be wonder if they considered at one point having the bridge built for the Season 1 finale.

Even the idea of the wrap around corridor was there in August 2017
