Pelia is great. She's as thinly constructed as any other character was in their first few episodes on a Star Trek show. She's new, she hasn't dominated the season, but there's plenty of room for development in Season 3.

She's the Guinan, not the Q. Do TNG fans moan that Guinan is thinly constructed?

Indeed, I love Carol Kane anyway, so any excuse for more Pelia is fine by me.

It's my first experience of her, but I think she's absolutely charming in the role and fits perfectly alongside the cast.

My first real exposure to her, that I fully grasped (when she was on Taxi I was a wee little child), was in Scrooged, where she played the Ghost of Christmas Present. She was such a delight that I had to look her up everywhere else.

Yes, and she was great. Well, I mean, when I got a little older and understood the comedy, she was great! When you're 9 years old, it's just funny to see a cute lady in a fairy outfit smack the shit out of Bill Murray with a toaster. I mean, that and fart jokes were the height of kid comedy. So that was my first impression of her.
