Dude. I understand your bitterness, I also hear you about how difficult it is to break in without connections. It's true that it's easier to be a writer in Hollywood right now if you already have an income (this is part of the reason for the strike}. Poverty can certainly be a limitation but if you are a writer YOU WRITE. I come from poverty and I'm a published author. As long as you don't expect to make a living off of it you can do okay.

I don't believe that I'm bitter, at not becoming a writer. I'm just really upset that Hollywood refuses to create entertainment to entertain. And instead prefers to make shitty, petty and vindictive bullshit, to lecture people about how bad they are, for liking what they like, for being normal. That sort of entertainment isn't. The only people who 'enjoy' that sort of crap; are evil and/or mentally ill.

I'm not sure I'm following your logic. What sort of shows are you talking about now? I mean, I think the people who make reality television are evil. I think the reduction of artistic endeavors to "content creation" is evil. I think removing the creative work of thousands of people from streaming platforms in order to write them off for tax purposes and thereby put more money into the fatty fat pockets of shareholders is evil. But I can't tell what you're talking about. Because if you think trying to tell more stories about people who are gay or trans or indigenous or immigrant is evil then that's a you problem.
