If DSC Season 2 is to go by, those aren't sensors, they're windows into a conference room.

If her other ancestors were regular humans, then it's unlikely she would show any abilities noticeably enhanced. However, we don't know the makeup of her other ancestors yet (a hidden enclave of augments?). As for Augments procreating, there's no reason to think they wouldn't. There is the Wrath of Khan baby in the deleted scenes as well.
