Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

That's just the lighting.

You're wrong.

I just noticed that the concave surface is clearly visible in the homepage image for the show:

Now, I'm sure that you don't see it, but you're looking right at it.

Let me make it easier for you:

Everything edge etc. lighted on the bridge looks very dance-friendly, but not eye-friendly if you work there for an 8-hour shift.

That's okay. No one could have worked eight hour shifts on the cute pedestal chairs, either. And it's actually impossible for someone to have scanned and monitored all of those annunicatiors mounted on the panels in front of them from that position.

Please tell me they didn't crash the Enterprise again.

Other than that, love the new teaser. "That's not how linguistics works!" cracked me up.
It could be the Constitution. <fingers crossed>

That would be so cool and we find out why it was never seen during TOS.

Ok for the first time in a long time i like what i am seeing in these trailers, so fingers crossed that we may have a ST show and characters i am actually interested in at last.

They give the wrong year on it though. It has 2288 as when she became captain.
I believe it also says she led a mission to the "Lesser Magellanic Cloud" which 1) doesn't exist and 2) if it's the Small Magellanic Cloud, is over 200,000 light years away, so I think the milestones text should be taken with a grain of salt.

Background text and graphics are usually taken with a grain of salt. Or else the Enterprise-D has a hamster powering the warp drive.

Yay, we've got a SNW subforum. :wtf: :adore:
Is this some weirdo mirror universe ;)

Just saw the "Uhura" trailer.
Looks good (love the warmer bridge lights so much!!!). :adore::adore::adore:
Excited to see and learn more of Uhura and Co.

About the sideburns, I'd just like to remind everyone, that if we are strictly following cannon, everyone but Spock should have square sideburns until The Corbromite Maneuver. But we all know that's "early installment weirdness" so we ignore it.

Woah

I love that shot, reminds me of one of the art pieces Peter Markowski did for a Kelvin Trek animated series: https://www.coroflot.com/pitakow/Star-Trek-The-Animated-Series-Pitch-material

Me too! To once again bring up Kelvin Trek, I get similar vibes from this concept art for the Enterprise bridge for ST 2009.

The interiors look amazing from what we've seen of them so far. I'm really happy that they're leaning into the clean, white + retro sci fi look.

Let me make it easier for you:
I don't see anything that looks concave. Plus look at the shot of the Enterprise leaving dry dock. The bottom is completely flat minus the middle.

I really gotta pay closer attention. Didn't even notice the ship, much less it's captain
It's not legible on screen.

How is that wrong?

Because she's still wearing a commander's rank pin on her uniform in 2293 in STVI:TUC.
