Or MAYBE they just cast him for a couple of episodes because at this point that's ALL they want top do with the character at this time.It might not be what they plan. But honestly, casting a guy who is nearly 40 as Kirk just seems like a bad idea unless you plan to utilize him in a broader fashion pretty soon. I also feel like they've sort of backed themselves into a corner now, as they can't really (provided he's the real deal Kirk, and not an imposter) reasonably recast again in this generation of Trek shows.
They have Michelle Yeoh waiting on the sidelines for an opening slot of a new show (they're at their production limit until Picard ends production) - which they WANT and she WANTS to do (and IMO she has a whay larget 'acting pedegree' and exuisting fanbase than Paul Wesley)...
So yeah, again, I love all the theory casting that somehow Anson Mount MUST have quit after Season 1 filming wrapped and they're bringing in someone to play Kirk for the majority of Season 2...

Can I have some of what you're smoking? I need a good break from reality now.
What next? "Alex Kurtzman fired FOR REAL this time..." ??
