Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

I never passed any of this as fact, it's just my opinion.

There's nothing copy and paste about it.

It's a modern design for a modern TV series made for modern audiences.

This show is also for new people, not just original fans.
Yup. If the show just appeals to me it's a failure.

I liked the DSC desktop viewers with the data card slots. They were a great spin on the TOS desktop viewers in the individual quarters and the recreation room.

They used the data cards in the first season of Disco. So it's nice to see them back.
At least one also showed up in Season 2.

I notice that they've kept the "egg crate" lighting over the turbolift bay.
It was also there in Season 2, though more subtle.

The Enterprise bridge in DSC Season 2 looked so much better in promo shots than in the final episodes. The Final episodes look like they slapped a blue filter on it. Thankfully it doesn't look like they've done that for SNW

I'm still a bit confused about why they've got two seats at a console which is curved in a way to allow one person to use the buttons.

Yeah, that's a weird one.

The TOS consoles were always way too wide for single users, and the panels sloped at too steep an angle to be at all ergonomic. Everything was designed to suggest functionality, but was actually intended to fill the frame in an attractive and economical way.

Heh ... he looks like he's from Whoville in that shot.

He's out hunting for Christmas....
