They refuse to do so, unless they absolutely have to. It's some kind of weird cultural thing here against new forums. In the meantime, Future of Trek will be inundated with SNW topics and they're just making more work for themselves when they eventually make that new forum.
I'm still curious about where Prodigy will go, since it's not a streaming show, but we won't find out for awhile.
What I had heard was the admins were burned when Discovery's first release date kept getting pushed back, resulting in the forum existing for over a year prior to release. As a result they waited until the release date was certain to set up the forums for Picard and Lower Decks.
We don't need it yet. Also, what @The Old Mixer said.
I just wish the old BSG and Stargate forums would be brought back, if for no other reason than to be able to read those old posts. Several unsuccessful attempts had been made in the past and I fear that that segment of the database may have gotten corrupted.

At the risk of allowing too much of a peek behind the curtains, generally the main thing holding back new forum creation is rounding up suckers to mod it...some of whom have to be experienced mods to deal with active show traffic.
And trust me, when SNW traffic gets to the point where it can use a dedicated forum, I'll be in the BR hitting the panic button.

Ah - so StarGate is still there, that's good. Is BSG still accessible in the same way?
Nope.
When I made this post back in 2016, it was still accessible, albeit hidden, and was the 29th forum. Today, the 29th forum gives a "you do not have permission" error, which means it's a forum that has likely been locked so only the administrators can view it.
Any news on whether production has started? I know that they usually release photos and make announcements when production begins, so just curious if that's slipped the radar or not?
Not that I've heard.

The Mego Pike figure's promotional photos have it standing in an unfamiliar corridor. Whether it was mocked up for the doll or if it's indicative of the new Enterprise sets is unclear.
