Any casting news?? supposedly about to start.. So... anybody? Buellier? Buellier?

Rumor of the moment is Scot Bacula being brought back, for something??

This story mentions the rumor. It claims it might be PIC he appears on, tho it does say if Archer appears on SNW he'd have to be "from the future" (?). It would seem they would have to age Bakula up to be on SNW as Archer.

The very first sentence of the article states "According to [another-unreliable-rumor-spreading-clickbait-site], ...". So, they're just spreading some internet fantasy that a small corner of Trekdom relishes. Why would Scott Bakula come back, anyway? Archer supposedly died on the day the Enterprise launched, right? Why bring him back from the future? Why why why?

Sorry, not buying.

The linked site also lists The Handmaid's Tale (Season 4) as currently in production (started Sep 8th, 2020), and camera-wrapping soon (April 29th). While the site is obviously the official City of Toronto website, is the information up to date given COVID restrictions on productions? Can anyone confirm?

I'd love for Scott Bakula to appear again in Star Trek, guest or starring role, preferably on a Short Trek, Strange New Worlds or an ENTcontinuation of sorts.

I think he "lived to see the Enterprise launched". Not sure about that being the point he died. MA has it as "sometime after 2244".

The file on Archer in the Defiant's database in Enterprise's MU episode does include a mention of Archer dying the day after the 1701's launch. Though three things:
-When Mike Sussman wrote the file, he didn't realize it would be readable on screen.
-The part that mentions Archer's death wasn't even shown onscreen.
-That file also includes information about Shran which was contradicted in TATV.

So, in the event they do some sort of Enterprise revival, or bring Archer back somehow, there's no reason to believe they'll adhere to what we saw in IAMD.

As I said elsewhere, the biggest hope for an Archer comeback is on Lower Decks. They actually set it up quite well in the last episode when Riker mentions going back into the Archer holodeck program on the Titan. Boimler is stationed there (for now) and could just walk in on or use the program one day, which would allow cameos for basically everyone on the Enterprise cast who wanted to play a role.

For holodeck appearances on LDS or Prodigy, they won't even have to show up in person. Just record remotely, as needed or preferred.

Rise of the Federation, Archer retires and runs for high office etc...

As ridiculous as this sounds, I wouldn't mind if they did the Star Trek thing where every descendant and/or ancestor looks exactly like the said-person for whose family tree they are showing. So, if Scott Bakula wanted to return to play a distant-distant descendant of Jonathan Archer and be the president of the Federation in season 4 of Discovery, I'm into it.

Wasn't Scott one of those who had a clause in his contract to have weekends off so he could go back home?? Or who was that??
