Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

If they wanted to get clever about it... Harry's file displayed in "Mudd's Women" curiously includes "Future Police Record-Code X731248."

Given his time crystal shenanigans on Betazed and Discovery, it wouldn't be a leap for Mudd to get himself onto the radar of temporal authorities... who would, of course, be compelled to correct any continuity errors Mudd may cause on SNW.

:D
Must be from the same prop people who gave us this:

I know they’re continuing to work on developing new movies, likely taking place in the Kelvin timeline. In the original timeline, though, we don’t know the fate of the Kelvin or its captain.

We know the appearance of Nero and the destruction of the Kelvin made a huge impact on the divergence of timelines, so I wonder what the Kelvin’s fate and history were meant to be in the original timeline. With the re-merger of Viacom and CBS, it would be interesting to see the USS Kelvin or an Admiral Robau in Strange New Worlds, I think.

Robau and the Kelvin crew (with the exception of James Kirk's parents) could have been killed in Discovery's Klingon war.

You know...they never established the lifespan of Betazoids on-screen....so we could have an episode where Pike makes first contact with Betazed and meets a young Lwaxana Troi, played by Rebecca Romijn :guffaw:

(Joking here of course. Though Romijn could still, theoretically, play Lwaxana's mother in an episode)

mix up comedy romp confirmed with Lwaxana Troi, Number One and Christine Chapel all appearing.

You can't kill Robau that easy. Blow up his ship and he will just float in space and dust off the debris. Then will himself back to a starbase in order to get another ship and go kick some Klingon Ork ass.

I wish he was that strong against Nero

He didn't die. We never see the body. What he did was fake his death and escape using a Romulan ship. Also as a expert on everything he noticed Borg tech in the Romulan ship and also with memories of the Temporal War understood this was moment was important to create a timeline were Kirk and the gang will become great. Meanwhile though he took his new freedom to go single handedly beat the Borg, V'ger and other terrible future attacks in order to keep on saving the universe, his way.

Just like Plo Koon and Barriss Offee ( from the movie and novels, NOT from the CW serie) survived order 66 in ROTS :)

So I'm wondering what Aliens they could use for the rest of the ensemble. I'm hoping for like two more alien main characters, maybe one species we haven't seen/explored before (such as the Dragon-like "Colt" in Discovery, it would be easy enough to recast her) and one species which we have seen before, but not as a main character.

Would it be too early in the (prime)timeline for an Orion Starfleet Officer? I mean they showed a Barzan Starfleet Officer in Discovery and that species wasn't a Federation Member either, even in the 24th century...
Or, if that should really be too soon for an Orion, maybe an Andorian? Rigellian? I'm pretty sure by now a Catian main character should be doable as well.
A Bolian might be fun too.

It's past time for an Andorian main character, especially since we missed out on Shran joining the NX-01 crew.
Normally I'd say that would be the case, but the Enterprise up till early TOS was still considered an "Earthship". Even the General Order banning Talos 4 visit screenshot on this very thread says that.

The Enterprise could just be mainly human like the USS Intrepid was all Vulcan. That'd save the hassle of putting an actor/actress through heavy makeup for Strange New Worlds.

They won't be adhering to that.

I suspect terms like "Earthship" or "united earth space probe agency" won't be used on the show. We may see a background image of the latter like happened on ENT but nothing more.

As others said that was just early installment weirdness.

Also, there were a number of Alien extras on Pike's Enterprise as seen on Discovery, including Nhan (a Barzan) and a cool, scale-faced "Yeoman Colt"
