It was explained to me by someone who understood such things that they were annunciator panels, which I immediately accepted because they looked like annunciator panels.

No canon explanation for a bit of set detail that had no involved rationale for it is necessary.

The interior shots are also gorgeous. IIRC in motion you could see some streaking stars and the more violent turbulence of the warp tunnel in the previous movies is now calmer eddies and currents. Kind of feels like looking out into an ocean.

I am rewatching SNW 'These Old Scentists.' Ok I know the TV production reason for why Boimler was worried that he 'broke' Spock but him being worried that Spock is not the man he knows, the man he read about in books, well for a start, Boimler you don't know Spock and two, for the episode to imply it is all Chapel's fault is kinda sexist and denies Spock's agency.

BTW I have also joined the ranks of those that believe if you rename M'Benga, Scotty, Chapel, Kirk and Uhura the characters still fit in the show without affecting TOS.

Hm, that’s certainly the takeaway that Christine and possibly Boimler seem to have, yeah, but I didn’t feel like the episode really took that stance as well. Here and in other episodes they’ve been making it pretty clear that Spock is in a phase of experimenting with emotions and his human side and that that’s the reason why he behaves differently from what Boimler expects from reading about Spock in history books.

But also, I think it’s a pretty common thing that people change their attitudes, behaviors, opinions, preferences and sometimes even their whole personalities when they are in a relationship with someone. That’s not robbing them of their agency, that’s just how some people behave when they’re in love. Most people are constantly changing throughout all of their lives, and especially so when they are falling in love with someone. I never once felt that meant those people weren’t still responsible for their own actions and attitudes.

Guess he never read about how the TNG gang was shocked at what Cochrane was really like....

Yeah, I know, it probably was classified and he wouldn't know the details...

So the SNW season 3 'special' episode introduces The Addams Family to Star Trek continuity, and we find out that Cousin It was actually an alien all along. Fun! ;)

A wig on a tripod like that is seriously creepy and disturbing looking.

That was the first thing that came to my mind, if I’m honest. Posting heads of enemies to the Crown on London Bridge, and all that….
