I like the costume design, but Anson Mount is just a little too seasoned for me to suspend disbelief and accept him as a 25-to-30-year-old in that image. I wonder if they could have afforded to use the de-aging tech they used for de Lancie, Stewart, and Frakes on PIC?

I always felt that the Jeffrey Hunter Pike was probably a security officer than worked himself up the ranks, as opposed to a scientist or diplomat. He seemed very militaristic in his command style.

Oh yeah I have seen this particular picture before, but I thought that it was a fan cos playing as a Klingon with another dressed as Luke Skywalker at a convention.

I cannot wait to see the Klingons again (besides Worf), I wonder if the character that I have mistaken as Luke Skywalker is a flat headed Klingon augment?

That's my conjecture. One's a TNG and Movie-style Klingon. The other is an Augment one.

I always thought the Kelvinverse Klingons looked pretty damn good, actually.

I kind of wished they played a bigger role in at least one of the movies (bigger than their passing involvement in STID), but I understand how people might have seen them as being heavily overused by that point.

The Klingon scene is one of the best in Into Darkness. The costuming, make up and design work is all excellent.
