Spoilers Starfleet Academy General Discussion Thread

That's on a personal level. What are fans learning?

I have no other levels, so personal is the only one I have to go on. What are fans learning? From a studio perspective they definitely learned how far viewers are willing to go to support a property. Fans themselves? They continue to learn what they will and won't accept.

Outside of the hardest of hardcore, everyone learned that Starfleet Academy wasn't what most Trek viewers wanted (at least in the form that it currently is in). The damndest thing is that with season two already in the can before the show premiered, they're stuck with an inability to make any adjustments to the material to correct issues that might have pushed viewers away to begin with.

I'm glad you find it valuable. I do not.

I learn from both. Building a house meant having both.
Fans are learning a Star Trek franchise show has been cancelled. There's nothing for them to 'learn' as in this current entertainment model, cancellation is certain at some point and even if very successful, a lot less episodes are produced over the run of a series.

All the rest is just click-bait for those with a monetized platform, who take advantage of idiots who enjoy hating something and letting everyone else know their 'superior' (in their mind anyway) opinion.

What I learned is the people in charge of Star Trek should start listening to me more on what shows to make. Now if only they would also learn that lesson. :)

This.

i guess because then we would know what life at starfleet academy would be like

and also see what kinds of shenanigans and antics that the gang would do while being at starfleet academy

Shouldn't two seasons be enough for all of that? If they haven't accomplished that in two seasons, then it is a failure on their part for not giving enough time to the premise they selected. Secondarily, if they haven't acheived that in two seasons, what makes you think they'll achieve it in four?

i guess many thought starfleet academy would have big ratings like being nominated for the emmy and the golden globes style high ratings
