Star Wars Rebels Season Two (spoilers)

If you are in the UK and have access to the Sky One app, great news. The next two episodes of Rebels are now available. I'd like to think that the same extension will be made for the Disney XD app at some point (?) between now and (ugh) October 14th.

^ I think we all know this means that one way or another they will be available by October 14 if they aren't already.

Has anybody seen or heard if Siege of Lothal has or will be airing on the main Disney Channel? I haven't noticed it, but I tend to just skip past Disney Channel when looking through TV Guide. I watched all of the first season on there, except Spark of Rebellion, which I still haven't seen.

Most likely they will play it before the 14th. I caught Siege of Lothal repeating a couple of weeks ago... just by chance.

Sarah Michelle Geller as pre-A New Hope Leia? Fingers crossed that this incredible hint is truly true. Here she is on Instagram hinting at a costume she'll be wearing at the Rebels panel in NYC, sporting the distinctive buns.

Good stuff!

I guess there's an advantage to being married to one of the show's lead actors.
Not that I'm complaining, she would be a great choice for Leia, although I wouldn't mind Catherine Taber either. She voiced Leia in The Force Unleashed and was going to voice her for Detours, and she voiced Padme in The Clone Wars.

Not that I've noticed. Though her voice is pretty distinctive. There may have been instances where she's tried to "throw" it, but I knew right away it was her, anyway.

I never heard Taber's Leia, but I've heard her do about a dozen different things, and she always sounds the same.

Yeah, it's pretty much the same voice she uses for Padme. A bit more nasal and haughty perhaps, which I can only assume was her attempt at doing something similar to the quasi-British accent Fisher had in her scenes with Cushing. Bit of an odd choice considering (IIRC) that wasn't an intentional choice, just an accent she wasn't quite able to shake after being over here for a bit (I assume in a stage role) prior to filming and it never recurred again in any other scene or the later films.

Of course mimicking the original actor's voice isn't nearly as important as faithfully portraying the *character* in and engaging fashion.

I don't think anyone would mistake James Arnold Taylor's version of Obi Wan for Ewan McGregor's, or for that matter Alec Guinness's. Nevertheless, I was never in doubt that I was listening to Obi Wan Kenobi.
Likewise, Matt Lanter's performance sounds nothing like Hayden Christensen, but you still absolutely buy his as beign Anakin. Probably more so in face since he was able to do so much more with the character over the course of 100-odd episodes.

Are you talking about Fisher?

My take on it was that scene was probably early in shooting, and, since she wasn't getting a lot of input from George, she just went a long with what the other actors (Cushing, Daniels, etc.) she'd been around at the time were doing and just went with it.

It's been a while so I may be misremembering, but I'm pretty sure I've seen an interview with Fisher where she says that accent was something she didn't realise she was doing and the result of already being over here for a few months for some reason or another. I want to say it was a play, but I honestly can't remember for certain.

I always assumed Leia was just putting on a "Core accent" because she was still acting as Princess Leia, member of the Imperial Senate, and then reverted to her normal accent otherwise. But I'm probably just remembering some EU/Legends retcon.

Yeah. And you know the last time I watched TPM, I started thinking that he should have had Knightly VO all the Queen's dialog.

Or they could even just digitally replace Hayden Christensen's whole performance. I could buy Lanter as a physical Anakin as well as his voice.

I've often wished they'd have Mark Hamill dub over all Hayden Christensen's dialogue in the prequels. Or at least Matt Lanter.

I wonder what the "Han shot first" anti-Special Edition people would make of that?

Sarah Michelle Geller's character was revealed today, and no, it's not Leia. She'll be voicing an Inquisitor called "The Seventh Sister".
