Omg, I have CANON proof of a post ww3 deep space mission. During lockdown I was writing a fan fic taking place in 2060 that did a deep space mission! But I've abandoned it now, because I lost my muse. If I hadn't lost it, I would find a way to incorporate it in my fic. Because I already had 4 crew members developed. Ah, well

Has anyone made a connection with the grapplers from Enterprise NX model ships and the modified extendable version of grapplers the scavenger ship employs to attempt to grab hold of Kirk’s ship around the 37 minute mark?
Seems reasonable that the scavengers could have acquired this tech sometime in the past and modified it for their own purposes.
