I actually really enjoyed this one. I am genuinely surprised at all the hate.
It was all right except the end with another presumably failed spock romance being set up (since la'an obviously isn't even mentioned in tos)I actually really enjoyed this one. I am genuinely surprised at all the hate.
Space SeedWhy would people discuss every relationship they've ever been in? Maybe I'm in a weird group, but most people talk about their current relationship, not all the past ones. And if they're single, they don't talk about relationships at all.![]()
As if people care about other people's relationships that much. It's...bizarre to me.Space Seed
I think you're missing the point that regardless of any mention in tos putting spock through another failed relationship is ds9 torturing obrien territoryAs if people care about other people's relationships that much. It's...bizarre to me.
Khan's a narcissist in a way, an egomaniac so a relative's accomplishments strike me as meaning extremely little to him.
Then why mention a TOS episode?I think you're missing the point that regardless of any mention in tos putting spock through another failed relationship is ds9 torturing obrien territory
A collection of bad tropes strung together and more laughing at the era then trying to show it in any sort of laugh with us parody.
Me too!I actually really enjoyed this one. I am genuinely surprised at all the hate.
I'm not. Fandom has a very opinionated Anti-Fun Contingent.I actually really enjoyed this one. I am genuinely surprised at all the hate.
He should've been in the bridge too. The only reason he wasn't was to preserve the holodeck surpriseThe only part I thoroughly enjoyed was the final one, with its goofs. I genuinely laughed, it was delightful, but the episode itself — what was the point of it? Most of the holodeck episodes in TNG had some relevance to the mission or to the broader sense of duty/moral quandary, etc., personal development. Do we really need to see Spock flirt with every woman on board? A healthy libido is a positive thing, but seriously, that's not his defining characteristic — he's a brilliant scientist, a science officer.
Because Ethan Peck is a "Sexy Man"!Why does Spock need to be everyone's love interest?!
Those two aspects of Spock don't need to be mutually exclusive.Do we really need to see Spock flirt with every woman on board? A healthy libido is a positive thing, but seriously, that's not his defining characteristic — he's a brilliant scientist, a science officer.
I freaking loved it. All the Hollywood references, the industry insider shit and infighting and egos, the Scotty B-plot, Uhura trying to help him out with his "hypotheticals" and not ratting him out (when she probably should have). They were all so good doing their holodeck characters. Plus it was gorgeous to look at. Although, while I was watching Spock and La'an I was kind of - WTF is happening? But I'm fine seeing where this goes. I don't 'ship. Got no skin in the game.
I'm surprised by all the hate and outrage and po-faced reactions though. This was brilliant work. Meta, but in the best way.
I think they also connected it to the battle simulator seen in Discovery
Aaaand Spock directly said he’s related Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
