So the planet that Korby and Chapel were on was the Q Homeworld back when they were corporeal.
Spock never saw what he looked like.Trelane appears to derive a significant amount of his power in TOS from whatever that machine was, which has always made me not buy the explanation of him being a Q. Also he appears to not know much about humans and still thinks it's the 1700's, which doesn't work if he's met humans before. Also why doesn't Spock recognize him in Squire of Gothos?

I was hoping for more of a "Family" type episode dealing with the aftermath... and there's a bit of that with Ortega having a Nog moment, but of course most of the episode was just a silly romp.
Which is fine I guess, but I also don't like the episodes that try to tie into existing lore... especially if they do the equivalent of explaining Klingon foreheads and make it clear that Trelane is a Q.
Fans were serviced, but I'm just not that type of fan I guess.
It's fine, but I'm hoping it really gets going next week.
If anything it muddies the water even more.Surprising cameo, there. Should please canonistas who like to connect dots.

INTERVIEW — Henry Alonso Myers and Akiva Goldsman on STRANGE NEW WORLDS' New Set, That "Wedding Bell Blues" Character, and More!
We chat with STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS showrunners Henry Alonso Myers and Akiva Goldsman about that "Wedding Bell Blues" character, the show's new science lab, and more!blog.trekcore.com
The show runners have outright said it's Q and Trelane. Directly referencing the TNG Q-Squared that connected them.
3 from me too. Just cuz of DeLancie.A 3 from me. Sorry, just didn't ring my bell, I guess. I understand what they're trying to do with Spock/Christine (and now Roger), but it's still confusing. And I don't want to spoil the "wedding planner"... Anyway, the best part of this episode was right at the end, so I'm all agog.
So the planet that Korby and Chapel were on was the Q Homeworld back when they were corporeal.
Overall I found it extremely dissapointing and a rewill give them props for doing te very TOS thing of NOT showing 'Son of Q' in Vulcan or Andorian make up - even though from the episode dialogue it's clear that Spock sees him as a Vulcan Bartender at one point and then later Spock, Pike and the others see him as a Andorian wedding planner.
The four-armed Bartender
Is she though? Her third arm seemed to be on her back, Arex had his on the front of his torso just like all the other Edosians we've seen depicted on screen.
See, most of these didn’t seem questions. Korby’s not an android yet, that comes during the time Christine’s not with him, later. Yes, that was Trelane and Q; we were nicely hammered in the face with it. Trelane’s there because he’s a mischievous kid who feels like playing with lessers, just like later. (Why does he just happen to be here? …Yeah, okay, small universe syndrome. Eh. But maybe this is how the Q first notice humanity in the first place, which makes this a really important event). The technology question’s reasonable, but either that was just an amplifier, or he’s got one stored away somewhere nearby (which implies all Q actually do that — eh). I’m going to go with child-Q “training wheels”, not always or usually necessary.
EDIT: Interesting implication from Trelane’s dialogue — the planet Korby’s digging around on is the Q’s old homeworld, from before they “ascended” or whatever. Is this the same planet as in “What Are Little Girls Made Of?” Making the primordial ancestors of the Q the Old Ones who built Ruk, etc.?
canon is intact, this occurs after Squire of Gothos in Trelane's timeline.
And apparently long after Q2 in Voyager, if Trelane is indeed Q junior.
Also , they never mention Trelane or Q. Spock saw him as a Vulcan. So he wouldnt recognise Trelane in Gothos
"There his is, MY POINTY-EARED TROUBLEMAKING SCAMP. I have some fiendish plans in store for you, my old friend!"On my second re-watch, I noticed you can see Trelane looking through Spock's window at one point, when Chapel leaves his quarters shortly after the beams on the ship

Solely?I know Trek fans are impressionable and love their fan theories ( guilty of it myself to a degree) but I am surprised how many are just assuming this Character was a Q. Like it's official canon. Unless I'm missing something? Is it solely because DeLancie played the voice of the Father.?..
It was an Edosian. The very first one we've seen in live action!Or were there only three arms and one was seemingly able to spin around to the back? I haven’t rewatched that bit yet, but was it not supposed to be a TAS orange-skinned Edosian?
