Not to mention a pink energy barrier surrounding the edge of the galaxy.Yeah, no.
Right off the bat TOS had human/alien hybrids and ESP.

I figure that's how the aliens are going to get me.And even the first episode of the regular series in production order featured a diminutive alien the size of a human child using an actual puppet of a more intimidating alien to threaten the crew of the Enterprise with destruction, all before telling them it was all a test and offering them room temperature alien alcohol they didn't even scan before drinking in case, you know, it was a trick to kill them.
They did do an opera version, but they felt it was too predictable and too much like all the other singing, so they did an alternate version.I was disappointed we didn't get more serious singing from the Klingons. I was expecting some opera.
They really didn't.Maybe I'm wrong, but TOS/TNG/DS9 seemed to have more accurate references to science
I can see that. We really should be more surprised that the Klingons singing opera heading into battle isn't already a thing without an anomaly. They did do an opera version, but they felt it was too predictable and too much like all the other singing, so they did an alternate version.
Most TNG era "science" looked like the writers saw something on the cover of a Discover or Popular Science magazine, then made up some bullshit particles to explain it.They really didn't.
Bullshitium readings are off the chart, Captain!!!!!!I can see that. We really should be more surprised that the Klingons singing opera heading into battle isn't already a thing without an anomaly.

I prefer triple purified bullshitium, better known as Fuckrium, in my science fantasy stories.Bullshitium readings are off the chart, Captain!!!!!!![]()
Maybe I'm wrong, but TOS/TNG/DS9 seemed to have more accurate references to science, other cultural things like music, chess, etc. Or at least more of a focus on it.

Nope, but they did try their hardest to sell it as actual science. Especially the TNG/DS9/VOY actors often stated in interviews that trying to be serious about all the made up words and sell them as actual science was incredibly hard.
Yes. Pike asks where the music is coming from.Time for a stupid question:
Can the crew actually hear the music playing in the background, as they sing?
