"Someone say 'Cotton-Eyed Joe'?"
[Random Crewmember] NO!!
"ALRIGHT, THEN, COTTON-EYED JOE!!!"

Hmmm,Any song from AC/DC's Powerage album is a must pick.
Hmmm,
The show is in space, so... What's Next to the Moon?
But the band is playing in a bar, so ... Riff Raff? or... Sin City?
If there's a song request... Rock 'n' Roll Damnation?
Somebody here was just talking about Navy ships firing cannons, so... Gone Shootin'? or... Gimme a bullet?
Pike and Uhura just blew up the very expensive gas station, so... Down Payment Blues?
and lastly, Sam doesn't seem very happy with his brother's attitude, so... Up to My Neck In You? or ... Kicked in the Teeth?
IIRC, that covers them all?
Here's a thought on the show, the "gas Station" are they referring to a gasoline station back here in the 21st Century or a gas station for hydrogen gas?
Good grief. Look how much we all wrote! And you just summed it up!I thought this was a very good episode. I liked the focus on Uhura.
An awful episode with a main plot that makes no sense at all. This show needs some good sci-fi writers which are unfortunately not that easy to come by. Gooding is a very talented actor so a +1 for that.
2/10.
Yeah, it’s odd to me that anyone thinks the jazz ensemble requires a convoluted explanation after previous shows where they frequently showed the crews playing concerts, performing in acting troupes, etc.TNG had crewmembers perform all the time.
All the time...
So it's certainly believable that the band are members of the crew who are off duty.
The D also had classical music recitals. (No not the Beastie BoysTNG literally had a bunch of episodes where Will Riker brings his trombone and joins other crewmembers in performances in Ten Forward. How is this any different other than none of the jazz ensemble in this episode have recognizable characters?
I really enjoyed that, as a kid. It made the characters feel like real people, and a family, who were doing something important together but knew how to relax and have fun together, too.Yeah, it’s odd to me that anyone thinks the jazz ensemble requires a convoluted explanation after previous shows where they frequently showed the crews playing concerts, performing in acting troupes, etc.
