100% havent't seen it yet, but I don't mind spoilers - they raise anticipation for me.

That said....

How does the ship apparently look exactly like the prime universe model then? Is that explained?
No.

It's not important to the story any more than the same question is to the Mirror universe - a place that could not in fact logically exist. That is clear if you give it a moment's thought. Same with the universe portrayed in "Yesterday's Enterprise."

I like the way they've recreated Kirk for SNW - they circled the character, first introducing him via a couple of versions who were not entirely the main continuity version, which helped foreground some of the specifics of who he is in essence - what he values, how he relates to people and his goals.

I remember thinking several times while watching this and "Quality of Mercy" that, yeah, this is what he might be like without knowing Spock or McCoy.

I know that we as the audience are not supposed to think about it, but how the hell did Kirk and La'an cross the border and cleared customs when they went to see Pelia in Vermont?

Easy solution would of been to have Pelia living in Southern Quebec. But they already used Canada - mainly due to their shooting location. Why confuse the audience a bit more when you can include a more familiar U.S territory in a Time travel story in old Earth 😉

Crossing the border into Canada is super easy, barely an inconvenience. All you have to do is end your sentences with "eh" and pronounce the letter Z "Zed" and you're automatically presumed to be Canadian and this let through.

Ok. Makes sense. Now how about customs on their way back to Canada. 😏

Also make sure to be carrying a Molson or a Labatt's. And remember to tell the guard you're heading to T'rah-noh. There's always jobs there.
