Yeah, but it has never been that annoying in the TOS/TNG era.
Not to mention a queer actor gets to use the aesthetic of queer-coding while also just simply being queer and deliciously antagonistic openly. It's a real win.
It makes perfect sense. Keitel is a non-binary person that uses she/her pronouns. Pronouns do not gender make. There is no one right way to be trans.

Sybok's world view was known to Spock, so at this point I do not believe they have met and talked.
So throughout Strange New Worlds, Spock needs to get to know Sybok a little. We may even get to see him trying to form his cult of followers. Maybe this took a long time, if Spock actively tried to seek him out.
"Spock! ...Spock! It's me. It's Sybok. After all these years you've finally caught up with me. Don't you have anything to say to me?"
and later...
"When he encouraged others to follow him, he was banished from Vulcan, never to return."
Sybok then needs to escape captivity, and go on the run - or is formally exhiled.

I don't care either way, but it was really taking me out of the story and back to our sad 2022.
The message that "these people exist and deserve acknowledgement and inclusion just as much as anyone else does." Horrifying, and completely nonsensical. I can see why that gets you all in a tizzy.

Trans people have always existed and will continue to exist for as long as there are humans. Attitudes that they don't belong are what make 2022 sad.

I have never said I had any problems with trans people. It's just the way that nuTrek is trying to hammer that issue in our heads that I don't like!
It's just having trans people exist and have people respect their existence without question or comment. If that is hammering something into your head then I really question what you feel is reasonable and it isn't an issue, it's an entire class of people who exist whether you like or not.
