Well, it's a good thing teleplays for weekly series don't always conform with reality. And good for Jim Kirk.
I just noticed that the YouTube channel Treksploration has labeled every single episode of the season as "A Must Watch" episode except for this one. 
Finally watching this. It's a little interesting but also kind of boring. I think it helped me put my finger on why although I am enjoying SFA I'm not super excited about it to the point it takes me a week to watch an episode. It's like if Lower Decks didn't have humor. All the storylines in this episode felt like they came out of Lower Decks, only taking themselves seriously.

To be fair, this was definitely the weakest episode of the season. Who would? Even a half-Vulcan has greater upper body strength than the average human so I can't imagine most sensible humans would want to fight a Vulcan on an even playing field if they could avoid it.
It was explained above by a clever clogs, which should have always been obvious, that Kirk was supposed to die, and then Spock goes to Jail for the rest of his life, which gives T'Pring the sort of freedom that as would more easily an honest conversation should have rewarded her with, but the Vulcan she's still biologically imprinted on will try to break out of prison every 7 years and stick a bun in her oven, and murder anyone in his way to get there to her down there.
I have honestly not seen this one in quite a while.

Things I liked. Nothing.
I didn't see the point of the episode. We barley know the characters and haven't seen much learning but we get caleb hacking yet again. Genesis still whining that her dad is a captain and she had to grow up with it. Caleb whining about his mom issues and his betazoid girlfriend knowing about it. Also flashing back to their giant heads again. when they were having relations. Enough. Lol. They both got a stupid punishment of mopping floors with old fashioned 21st century swiffer mops. They should have been kicked out especially caleb.
The fish kids story was so boring and pointless. Why were the male guests at the wedding wearing 21st century style earth suits and Jaden was wearing an alien dress? Why didnt yhe suits match the fish kidsnalien clothing? The fish kids girlfriend was barely in it and she obviously knows her new husband likes the klingon. I liked the fish guys story better when he was a bully that lasted a couple minutes and after 7 episides he acts like Jaden is his family.
This show is getting worse and ive noticed its hardly in the top 10 and leaves very quickly now. Everybody Loves Raymond keeps knocking it out of the top 10.

The streaming ratings being that important to fans should be a major red flag about the priorities of a fan.
It should be important to fans. High ratings are what keeps shows on the air. The ratings are even lower than TOS most likely at this point. As much as some here want this show to succeed its not. Paramount just bought warner brothers. They own HBO now. Modern day Star Trek writing can't compete with some of the properties there. They can't even compete with Paramount shows like Landman. Star Trek gets a fraction of its numbers. If they hadnt already cleared and filmed a second season I doubt very much it would have gotten one off the performance of season one. The only saving grace is it will end up with only 20 episodes. Hopefully thays happens. To order a 3rd season would maje absolutely no sense.
