I think the situation wasn't perfectly handled but I at least get what they were going for that the Klingons needed a ExactWords and BotheringByTheBook to justify their position. Which is that they were desperate for a home and wanted to take the charity but their pride needed some fig leaf to satisfy their pride.

The fact that the Federation was willing to "lose" was a big gesture in their culture while nothing berger to the Federation.

So 80% of a perfect episode.

Before the big reveal, I was thinking the Klingons also would have accepted a wager or sports contest like a Federation Olympics.

I'm very sorry you've not been able to find an echo chamber to validate your unfounded negativity here. There are likeminded communities of people not watching the show and talking about how bad they think it is but that isn't here, I know how frustrating it can be to not feel like you have a community to belong to, as an enjoyer of Picard season 2 I often feel like I don't have a 'people' too but trust me you do have places where your feelings will be welcomed with open arms.
Tbf people should be able to say they dislike something here. At least he is watching it .. 😂. I didn't watch it myself yet. But when and if i think it stinks I'm gonna say so. I have given all these Kurtzman shows a fair shake but I still think he doesn't really get it. There have been some bright spots but sometimes it feels like he wants to tear things down and then build them back up into what he wants.

Of course if someome gives a show a fair shake they shouldn't feel like their opinions are unwanted. You can learn a lot from discussing the differences. The problem is the communities online that decided they hated the show before it came out and aren't giving it a fair try and aren't open to discussing different opinions. We're unfortunately not at a point where it's easy to have conversations, perhaps in a few months when the disingenuous people get bored.

Well I think for every legacy franchise you will get those people that will no longer watch and complain. I sometimes get to that point myself. The Fast and furious franchise is a good example for me. Used to love it but then 7 came out and it has pretty much been awful since then. So I rip on the franchise whenever I get the chance. 😂 I have watched the last couple but usually for free.

Can you imagine how the griftersphere on YouTube would implode in performative rage if we had new Trek, Wars, LotR, & GoT spinoffs airing at the same time?
Yeah. But I wish we would get some new original franchises. Almost all the ones milked right now are 30-60 years old.
