Exactly. As I always say, not every change in art direction requires an "in-universe" explanation.

Just chalk it up to artistic license and move on . . . .
Otherwise you'll end up trying to explain why Shatner, Pine, and Wesley all look different even though they're the exact same guy.

I work with children and adults, and don't find juvenile characters annoying.
Like I said, you are more tolerant than I of juvenile behavior.

I mean, have fun for sure! Fun isn't synonymous with juvenile.

But watching juvenile teenage angst stuff isn't fun.

You have your way and I have mine. May you find yours as pleasant.

I just refuse to dismiss children or adolescents as just teenage angst.

Considering that there were zero casualties on both sides, meaning none of the Klingon ships inflicted any meaningful damage, I'm pretty sure everyone was in on it and no one was fooled. Unless you believe no one on those Klingon ships was capable of putting up a serious fight.
Klingons are depicted as being on the edge of extinction so it's really no surprise if they can't mount a strong attack.

But, let's say for the sake of argument you're right.

That still makes them a bunch of moronic, one-dimensional stereotypes because they require that degree of pandering for their own survival.

I don't dismiss most kids or adolescents that way. These characters are worse than most real-world kids!

I have a daughter and have had many pleasant interactions with her and her friends.

So, my criticism is squarely directed that the characters on this show and the focus that the show puts on this teenage angsty stuff.

I guess you're right that I have a higher tolerance. Occupational hazard because angst is a part of life.

You're not seeing or interacting with her friends when they're at their worst if all you've had is "pleasant" interactions. You've only seen their public personas when they're around adults.

Sometimes it really does help to just be acknowledged. One could make a parallel to a person with a terminal illness, they may not want help or pity because it reminds them of their weakness or mortality and so you have to meet people on their terms sometimes.

I saw the beauty and the fun in the compromise that was met with the Klingons. Everyone was able to get what they wanted in a way that worked for everyone.

Riiiiight, because self-destructive and prideful people don't exist in real life.
It's the entire flipping species!

And they're supposed to be complex, diverse, and multidimensional. Yet they ALL either fall for this obvious ploy, or at best, require the blatant pandering so they can make the obvious choice for their species to survive.

Thank you for telling me what my own life is like and the interactions are like. I wouldn't have known without you informing me despite you having no fucking idea about you're talking about.

Other than their leader that Ake spoke with, how many Klingons actually know this was a setup? I gather that this was not shared with anyone except the High Council, and the conflict was purposely manufactured by both sides.

We've all been teenagers once. Ain't nobody had a completely perfect time growing up.

I'm very sorry you've not been able to find an echo chamber to validate your unfounded negativity here. There are likeminded communities of people not watching the show and talking about how bad they think it is but that isn't here, I know how frustrating it can be to not feel like you have a community to belong to, as an enjoyer of Picard season 2 I often feel like I don't have a 'people' too but trust me you do have places where your feelings will be welcomed with open arms.
Im a member here and I can voice my opinons. Why would I want to go to a place were 100% of the people are like minded? Variety is good. Plus there are some here thay feel the way I do. I also don't believe my negativity is unfounded.
