Love this show.
But yeah, gotta be time travel in the next episode.
will Lower Decks start using these Prodigy uniforms and AGT comm badges next season?
All the Defiants in the episode are labelled Defiant, so who knows if they actually intended it to be the actual Defiant.
9/10 episode ranking this week from me.Exciting episode, I smell a time-travelling finale.
A few observations…
The weapon seems to be centralised, this means that it could still be stopped by disabling the construct.
This copy of Drednok is really inept: he’s given free rein in taking out the crew and instead of killing them all he only incapacitates them for a few minutes!
Similarly, the living construct is taking its sweet time to destroy the fleet. But perhaps it’s intentional: the longer the ships are in distress the more can be lured in.
...
The kiss was unexpected but nice, it doesn’t seem that Gwynn is that interested, though.
Speaking of Gwynn, that wasn’t really the time to have that conversation, especially as admiral Janeway promised she would vouch for *all* of them.
Looking forward to the finale, in any case. 8.
Ah hell, now I have to go watch Airplane!Don't be ridiculous...

Merry Christmas !Ah hell, now I have to go watch Airplane!
9/10 episode ranking this week from me.
All points I was going to make.
This was a really good episode. This series is truly one of Trek's best. So much starship fleet love, sad watching them tear themselves apart. Starfleet's firewalls against alien computer virus incursions fail once again. Since this is pretty much a VOY sequel I expect some time travel shenanigans to fix this mess.
Looking forward to it.
Apparently, there won't be any time travelling shenanigans to fix this.
After that massacre, they probably have to pull a time travel reset. Chuckles is still in the future too, so he needs to come back. And honestly, for a Voyager sequel, what could be more true to the spirit of the original than pounding the reset button?
Of course, that also suggests that several Prodigy crew members will either cease to exist or be drastically changed if they are successful.
The self-healing canopy isn't far fetched at all: https://www.techbriefs.com/component/content/article/tb/stories/blog/34859Thrilling episode, cannot wait to see how it ends.
The Diviner's faceturn was a bit random, I'm guessing Walter Bishop won't be returning for season 2 so they had to pass the baton of evil.
A little bit of dumbness, that big glass (self healing!) canopy, and Starfleet never thought to look inside and see what was going on? They'd have spotted their double agent in an instant.
And however they fix this, I guess this mass destruction is why Starfleet is all Zeng-He class ships come Picard season 1![]()
Tech Briefs said:Not only is the glass very transparent (over 99%) and very clear (with haze less than 0.1%), but it also has good antireflection properties over high incidence angles (less than 5% at 50º). Furthermore, it has additional functionalities such as liquid repellency, anti-fogging, and self-healing. The glass repels a wide variety of liquids such as water, oils, blood, milk, coffee, and ketchup. When the glass is abraded, it loses its liquid repellency, but by heating the glass up, it can self-heal and recover its excellent liquid repellency properties. There could be a wide variety of applications for this glass such as laptops, tablets, watches, displays, e-readers, and solar panels.
Those seem to be the two main options to resolve it, given that Starfleet as a whole will certainly survive and probably not even be that badly damaged (given Picard's evacuation was still on track at the time of the Mars attacks) and that certain individual ships (Thunderchild and Sovereign) were also shown during Picard fleet action:So will they time travel and prevent it all from happening or will they stick with it and move on. This might explain better Starfleet's actions with the Romulans in Picard too if they stick with it.
I think John Noble will be back; there is still a Diviner (young version) on present day Solum, and I assume Gwyn will need to seek him out at some point. Without his support, she doesn't stand a chance of doing what her father asked her to do (and what Starfleet, or at least Janeway, would probably also want her to do: which is to prevent the devastating war).Thrilling episode, cannot wait to see how it ends.

Here is the link to the video of the 7th rule, for this episode: Has the writer of the episode (Erin Mcnamara, first writers credit!) and also Bonnie Gordon and Cirroc Lofton ("Jake Sisko").Interesting, she can really vary her voice (I think she did "proofread" for Gwyn and maybe other parts in early season 1 episodes, due to Corona still being a thing then)! Bonnie Gordon is also a regular on the videos, done after each Prodigy episode, of the 7th rule: https://www.youtube.com/@The7thRule/videos
No doubt, her part will come up on the coming video about Supernova, part 1.
Oh I wasn't calling the self-healing dumb, just the not looking inside when it's a HUGE tactical advantage to see what everyone on the bridge is doing. The self-healing canopy isn't far fetched at all:
