I just see a kitty who can talk.I don't know. Sapient furry things just give me the creeps. It reminds me of Beauty and The Beast.

So fur-less monkeys?
So fur-less apes?Monkeys are not hominids.
FTFYI wonder how the Caitians must feel about House Cats having humans as servants.
Soooo much exposition, and some of it dealing with procedure was weird. Never seen power needs cause brig cells to open allowing prisoners to run free. Thought that only happens in Arkham .I suppose it matters little in an imminent death situation but it still seems silly. Perhaps a return to bars on brigs instead of force fields.
Enough with the Federation propaganda speech, please.
Otherwise a fun, action packed, character infused romp. 7
You'd think that the computer would give a warning before cutting off power to the brig. In case there's someone dangerous there...I viewed it as them being inexperienced at running a starship during emergencies. So when they divert power, they do it without checking what they're diverting from.
Agreed. The pacing, time and distance weren't as jumpy in this one as the pilot, so I think it's the stronger of the two so far. A good exploration of the Protostar.
A few highlights from me:
+ Kinda tragic to imply that Rok-Tahk's lived her entire life in the prison camp. Food rations are all she knows.
You assume Dal knows what the Federation is like; and his point is well taken in that I doubt the Federation authorities are going to look kindly at a group of kids 'joyriding' in a prototype Federation starship. Yeah, I'm sure they'll (the Starfleet Brass) will buy the "We just found it...it was 100% empty - no sign of the crew... " too.+ Dal's refusal to go to the Federation for aid is a tantalizing mystery. Theres a backstory here fueling the beliefs that he has, I wonder what it is.
I think of last winter when we got 3.5 feet of snow in one 24 hours period.Me too.
Which is unfortunate because every time I think of DQ, I think of Blizzard. And every time I think of Blizzard, I think of rampant misogyny and sexual harassment.
Been there, Done that. For all, we know they have one foot tall, quadrupedal, bare-skinned, hominids as pets...
Exactly. "The Federation" sounds super friendly...to us. It isn't to them.Based on what we know of their lives so far, the older ones would have no reason to trust any authority figure.
Ummm... Holo Janeway tried. You'd think that the computer would give a warning before cutting off power to the brig. In case there's someone dangerous there...
Why settle or aim low?
Biological immortality is inevitable thanks to exponential developments and returns by around 2030-2035... that's at most 14 years away.#
Plus, increasing research is saying that there might not be an upper hard limit to the human lifespan (or healthspan).
And we have examples of humans who are 80 years old, but look 20-30 years younger and are fit (most of them go to the gym though)... and that lifespan and healthspan are thriving when humans are on a plant based nutrition (absent of any/all animal products).
It doesn't warrant explanation.
