Only sad thing is the D's lights being turned off. Why couldn't Seven have had command of the D (and a new series), with that gorgeous well lit bridge :/

If they ever film Legacy they’re definitely moving production to Canada, where it’s cheaper and they also have the VR stage, so any set built for Picard will have to be transferred or rebuilt. Given the work involved they could have chosen to rebuild some D-looking sets instead of the Titan’s ones.

I would love to see this crew of Enterprise G have their own show, full of charisma and character! Great way to pass on the torch!

Isn’t it funny how it can simply come down to charisma and magnetism? The crew in SNW has it. The E-G crew has it, even then junior officers like LaForge, Esmar, etc… The crew in DSC…ehhh…they never really let them shine.

I assume the F was destroyed in the battle (Spacedock/earth defences are clearly pretty impressive).

They would have shown her being destroyed onscreen (and Picard & the gang reacting to yet another Enterprise lost) if that was the case, IMO. More than likely the Enterprise-F survived the Frontier Day Incident like most of the fleet, but was decommissioned afterward--something that might have been planned anyway before things went south.

I found it hard to believe that the Enterprise-D/Galaxy Class is considered "ancient" (Raffi's exact words) by the same organization that used the Miranda, Oberth, and Excelsior classes for over a century.

The other one that got me was Geordi referring to the E-D as “analog”.

Watching First Contact again, this time in 4K, Enterprise E looked glorious.

Thought Picard production value was pretty good. If they release a 4K box set, I will get it. Season 3 alone is worth rewatching.

The cast makes the show. TOS, TNG, Voy, DS9, all had great ensemble. Enterprise, Discovery, not so much.

The cube set was hybrid of TNG and FC/VOY. The alcoves were the TNG design, but all the detailing, colouring and lighting were from FC/VOY

Except for the fact that it was highly centralized, and subsequently, easily one hit.

I could see the name change from Titan to Enterprise being a public relations move.

The people’s confidence in Starfleet had to have plummeted to zero after an incident where not only was Starfleet a moment away from murdering everyone on Earth, but before that the entire organization was compromised by shapeshifters.

So Starfleet puts the one crew responsible that was able to offer some resistance in the battle together with the most famous name in Starfleet’s history as a way to restore confidence.

Also, if Utopia Planitia is still destroyed, Starfleet’s ability to rebuild the fleet and crank out new ships has probably been severely reduced.

A quick rebranding/renaming erases a multitude of sins. Facebook to Meta, Twitter to X, ValuJet to AirTran, and so on.

I don't mind Seven getting a promotion, but I didn't really like how she could assign herself a significant other as her XO.

I think they've written themselves into a dramatic hole. I'm sure they thought it would provide a feel good ending to have Seven and Raffi side by side. Going forward: (1) there is no dramatic tension between the two, and Raffi is just a mouthpiece for Seven; (2) the drama will make their relationship unsustainable; or (3) Raffi is not longer part of Seven's command hierarchy. IMO, 3 is the best option. Raffi might be a recurring character, the working woman who doesn't live with her spouse, being on special missions. Maybe she commands the MACOS, being on the ship but separate. I suspect they'll choose 2.

I think that’s true to a degree. But I think who the Showrunner is makes the biggest difference.

First 2 seasons of Enterprise I thought Scott Bakula was horribly miscast as Archer. But in seasons 3 and 4, especially with Manny Cotto calling the shots, I thought a lot of the cast came into their roles.

Troi and Riker are married.

I'm happy with the Titan as the Enterprise-G. The F looked like a bloated Voyager with Enterprise-E nacelles slapped onto it.

Same here. I'm a bit amused by the amount of people this is bothering. Probably the same people that are perfectly fine with Picard dead and replaced by an android. But rename a ship.?????....Ohhhhhh no we mustn't have that...

I guess they could have just redid the script and say it was a new build. Would have been a 2 minute change and delete the name Enterprise in the cgi. But apparently they felt since it was a big part of the battle to save earth and used by the Enterprise D crew they figured it was best to rename the titan.

Troi was a psychologist who would have been part of the medical corps, separate from Riker 's hierarchy.

And maybe this part confuses people, but there never was a series dedicated to the Riker Titan.

As far as some of the criticisms of Raffi being Seven's first officer and how that shouldn't happen given their prior relationship .... there's no indication in prior canon that Starfleet has the same fraternization rules that the US Military enforces.

Captain Robert April and his CMO, Dr Sarah April, were husband and wife during their tour of duty on the Enterprise (TAS).

I remember AirTran. Always feared for my life because of Valujet. But hey, I’m still here.

No. It was quite clearly established in TNG "Chain of Command, Part I," when Jellico ordered Troi to wear a regular uniform, that the ship's counselor answers to the captain of the ship. (Yes, that was an order.) It makes sense that the chain of command places everyone stationed aboard a ship under the captain.
