It's not legible on screen, but the Enterprise-D display made for Season 2 said it was recovered and put into the fleet museum.Random thought since Shaw mentioned the thing. Whatever happened to the Enterprise D's saucer section?

I’m sure changelings that were good at infiltration were able to fool a tricorder io to a point. The new ones can fool a thorough scan and need to be analysed much more closely to be discovered. On the other hand, that does mean it's trivial for Starfleet tech to detect internal organs. If other changelings couldn't mimic them, detection would be a lot easier than it was treated as being, no?
Forget all the blood tests and phaser sweeps, just point a tricorder at somebody!
speaking of lighting: was this episode brighter? As opposed to the previous episodes (and especially the last one) I don’t remember finding the darkness annoying. The way the lighting was done
uhm, I don’t think we know exactly what changelings reproduction involves.Founders can't evolve, because they do not lose bad traits each generation, and it can be argued that they do not have generations.
How about they are less evolved?
Cousins who developmentally split off from the main bunch half a million years ago?
If they were trying to get some where sublight, or went through a wormhole, or got stuck in a singularity, or just went into stasis to weather some apocalypse, these could be the Changelings from before they founded the Dominion?
Evolution does not occur quickly.

Though Mirror Odo only took a single phaser beam.Or survive multiple distruptors shots like fake Martok…
Ensign LaForge seemed to find time to get her hair done in the middle of the episode. Maybe Mr Mott is aboard somewhere!
right! I guess either he wasn’t too good at making anti-phaser “skin” or that that phaser was more powerful than Klingon distruptors.Though Mirror Odo only took a single phaser beam.
@Unimatrix Q is advocating for this strongly.I haven't read the entire thread so apologies, but anyone else thinking the changelings might want Jack because he has some link to the Pah Wraiths?
It was an excellent scene.Picard needed that conversation with Ro more than the fans. That was some brilliant writing.
What happens if they go good?My childhood crushes were usually villains and femme fatales -- Catwoman, Angelique, etc -- so I don't need to worry about them going bad.![]()
I suspect that, as an actress, McFadden is simply thrilled at finally being given something to do and meaty, dramatic scenes to play. As opposed to just being a warm and reassuring presence in sickbay.
She was in the TNG movies!?She had more to do and more character development before the credits of episode one than she had had in all the TNG movies combined. Shocking.
