Of course! Everything must be addressed
Still haven't heard anything about the Parasites from "Conspiracy". :p

If what's being addressed leads to an interesting story or enriches one that already exists, I'm all for it. If not, then not so much. If nothing else, I think Picard's backstory has been added to in spades. I find Picard a lot more interesting now than I did before 2020. The PIC writers have brought out a lot of potential in the character that was always there, when thinking back on it, but I didn't see even during my re-watch in 2019. I look at TNG in general and Picard in particular in a different light now than I did even three years ago.

PIC has added to Picard as much as the TOS Movies added to Kirk. Just like I'd hoped.

To quote the Borg Queen: “Bullshit.”
I wasn’t a fan of that. She should be better than to use 21st century Colloquialisms.

speaking of Picard, does anyone know why Paramount Plus doesn’t show this in 4K? They show the Halo show as so.

The mobile emitter was portrayed as 500 years more advanced than anything UFP had... though to be fair, how hard would it be to scale down a holo emitter to such a size?
We've seen UFP shrinking down complex technology in a span of a decade in the late 24th century. By the time of Nemesis, they already had a portable transporter which was smaller than a commbadge and could beam a person once.

Does "500 years" really matter in the grand scheme of things though? There should be alien races who have had tech for thousands, maybe even millions of years out there. The whole conceit we usually see in Trek that roughly everyone has the same tech (other than pre-warp civilizations) is just stupid.

I guess the NX-01 refit is now canon? :)

The Doug Drexler model was on young Jean-Luc's table so I'm guessing this more or less makes the Drexler Refit a thing in-universe. Not gonna lie, it's kinda cool.
Now is it the NX-01 or the novelVerse interpretation of it being the Endeavour?

There was a device on his arm that looked an awful lot like a mobile emitter. It can be seen fairly well at 30:49.

It was, so the Confederation of 2401 clearly had similar technology. Our timeline came through the technology through reverse engineering 29th century tech from the Chronowerx encounter in VOY.

I ended up giving this one an 8, but it was close to being a 7 as well. The flashbacks, which were the low point of episode 7 for me, were actually a highlight for me this time. Go figure. In retrospect, it's looking like the primary purpose of a great deal of 5-8 was developing the Borg Queen/Jurati bond. I'm fine with how that plot line seems to have resolved even if it was predictable, I just wish we could have seen more leading up to it..the Queen just changed her mind quickly but I can accept it because she's been weakened, in Jurati's body, and it wasn't a full assimilation of Jurati but they essentially became a new being.

The Elnor stuff was clunky for me as were some of the fight scenes - when exactly did Jurati create that hologram? The ship automatically creates a mind clone of anyone that enters it? Kind've silly. (Also, I missed why one of the drones that was fighting Seven didn't have a gun like the others but that may be on me).

The Rios/Teresa stuff that lasted several episodes seems to have led nowhere.

Where was Picard's dad when Picard opened the door to his mom's room and slept next to her?

All in all, some pretty minor nitpicks/issues in the grand scheme of things.

So for this season, I've given one 9, one 1, one or two 6s, and I think everything else has been 7-8 for me. Overall positive.

Janeway: "I'll put my career on the line for you, Seven. You get into Starfleet Academy or I'm giving them my resignation."
Admiral: "No. Can't do it. And don't pull that crap with us, Kathy."
Janeway: "Oh, well, did my best. See you later, Seven!"

Their plan is working, then.
I heard through the grapevine the Parasites make an appearance in Strange New Worlds and they'll figure prominently in Discovery Season 5. Their plan will be 930 years in the making, by the time Burnham single-handedly stops them all.

This is where someone else here chimes in and says, "See?! I knew it! I FUCKING KNEW IT!!!!"

The IMDB profiles of the two writers for this episode:

FRUvp0lXoAEdUAS

FRUvqF0XMAEVHVZ

These do not look like profiles of experienced writers.
One writer previously worked on an IMDb TV original action crime comedy-drama,
before that he did not work as a writer for 18 years.
The other writer wrote two short movies.

At least you can say they didn't work on "Desperate Housewives" or "My Little Pony" (two writes of previous Picard episodes did), or that they have a least some writing experience (for one writer, writing for Picard was his first writing job).

Janeway offering to resign?

Admiral T'Ay Hole:
Katie, dear. We just told Picard and the Romulan Empire to go suck it. Do you really think we give a shit about you and Barbie of Borg?

Isn't that in the trailer they pulled because of spoilers?
