This era:
Discovery
Picard
Lower Decks
Prodigy
Strange New Worlds
That
does make
Picard the second series of this era.
At the time it started, it was also the first Star Trek in close to 20 years to not be a prequel. Excluding "Calypso".
Picard occupies a space where a lot of people thought "This is the return of MY Star Trek!" Then they found out it wasn't, so it hit harder. I called this
a long time ago. Season 2 was about as close to "Yes! This is my Star Trek!" as they've gotten, then it was yanked right out. It's really that simple. So I completely understand how they're feeling because they're reacting the way I knew they would.
