Orla Brady is 61.Picard is 80 but it’s ok that he’s hitting on Laris-who-isn’t-Laris who is about 45.

Everyone looked nice in their ball gowns and suits though, so I’m glad the cast are having fun.
There is nothing pathetic about coming from an abusive family and I for one am thoroughly enjoying this addition to Picard's backstory.Seriously anybody is interested in finding out that Picard was from an abusive family? What a pathetic way to take the character at the end of the journey.
nope, me too. Im surprised that everyone in these parts seems to be enjoying it. Im happy for them - I wish I was getting something out of it.
Maybe Kurtzmann-Trek isn’t for me anymore. I’ve been getting into stupid arguments on the socials defending Disco and Picard from the angry hordes since Disco started, but now I think I’m switching sides. Discovery this season was hilariously awful - cloying, insipid, dull. The first two episodes of Picard were astonishingly good but since then it just feels like a waste of time.

Just stop watching then. It's really simple.
Just stop reading opinions that upset you. It’s really that simple.
Your opinion doesn't upset me at all. I just find it odd that people continue to watch something they dislike, only to complain about it. Life's too short for that.
Jurati was fully overtaken by the BQ….I'm sorry to say, but I found this episode nothing but filler. Nothing really seemed to happen in it except Adam Soong running over Picard with the car and tbh that's the only thing I remember from this episode.

Ok, I’m going to start talking about the elephant in the room here and not skirt around it.
Is there a logical, in universe explanation for Jurati randomly belting out a show tune? Was this scene only taking place in her mind, or did everyone else at the party get to see her performance? It looked like her audience enjoyed it though… If she actually did do this in the episode, was it a bit like someone at the party making a request to sing at a karaoke night taking place at the ball?
it was quite a different way of inserting singing cast members in to Star Trek. It wasn’t Vic Fontain’s holographic bar, it has the kind of ludicrousness as the extremely funny moment that the Doctor sang an opera about Tuvok’s Vulcan’s Pon Farr in Tinker Tenor Doctor Spy.
Also, Jurati’s red dress makes her look like that lady in the red dress out of the Matrix film that I vaguely remember. Could this also be a clue?
It was a diversion, designed to keep all eyes on her, to buy time for Picard to get to Renee. It definitely happened - Raffi and Seven talked about it later, and the Queen used the endorphins it generated to take full control. Was it the most obvious way to create a diversion? No. But the Queen had spent the entire episode nudging Agnes to do things her way, manipulating her brain chemistry toward the chemical mix she desired. That was what the kiss with Rios was all about - it shocked them both because it was the Queen who did it, not for romantic reasons but as yet another attempt to manipulate Agnes's brain chemistry. That attempt failed, so she tried something else. And this one worked. That was the in-universe explanation.Ok, I’m going to start talking about the elephant in the room here and not skirt around it.

I think it was meant to be part of the distraction so Picard can get away - lights go out, she starts singing and everyone is watching her
Logical I guess but…….

Oh that explains it…. Kind of….It was a diversion, designed to keep all eyes on her, to buy time for Picard to get to Renee. Will he have to fight himself in his own mind?So we are going into the mind of robot Picard next week. I just watched a Smallville episode like that. Will there be a good and evil Picard?
You aren't discussing though. You're whining and stamping your feet and threatening to 'switch sides' which does little to aid actual discussion. All well and good but don't expect people to not challenge your 'opinion'.I find it odd that you come to a Star Trek discussion board and complain about people discussing Star Trek.
