A fantastic start to season 3! All the First Contact call backs, Morgan Bateson and Tuvok! A shame I can only rate it up to a 10!

I like that they gave Bobby Moynihan more than one character to play.

I had tears in my eyes when they visited Historic Bozeman and the First Contact theme played.

So many great references: Jellico, Bateson, Tuvok, etc.

Beckett Mariner really belongs in that rehabilitation colony in New Zealand where Tom Paris was sent. Or maybe a month in solitary confinement, again like Tom Paris got for a much less serious offense.

    I gave it a phenomenal TEN !!

I had to watch it twice in a row to pick up on all the Easter Eggs.
(and I think I've still missed a few)

Pretty good episode. Liked that they referenced Bateson after all this time.

Loved it, great start of this season.
The first contact references are hilarious, in particular the enormous Zephram Cochrane statue and his holograms, he would have hated that.
The random guy stealing the ship was gratuitous but funny.
Felt the solution of the trial came too suddenly but it is typical lower decks to subvert expectations and show Starfleet indeed functioning as they preach.

I choose to believe two things:

    1. Boimler is fully aware those women are hitting on him and shooting them down.

    2. They're all his cousins and he finds that a major turn off.

    A solid 8.

The humor landed effectively and, I mean, come on, the return of James Cromwell as Zefram Cochrane after more than two decades.

I know, a competent StarFleet that knows what they're doing and doesn't hang their own out to dry!

Such a refreshing change of pace. I love seeing competency.

Boimler wants more intellectual & competent woman.

Woman who only work at his vinyard as helping hands who pick grapes aren't exactly that intellectual, sophisticated, or competent compared to a StarFleet Officer

That’s not going to happen. She’s the Mary Sue lead character. She can do anything bad and come out smelling like roses.

They literally just explained why she hasn't been kicked out of Starfleet yet. Her admiral father and captain mother have been covering for her.

Maybe reread the definition of Mary Sue, Mariner is far from that.

Felt very Rick and Morty with how it was resolved. Weird to see Starfleet actually being useful. :)

That feels more like a 2020's style thing. There have been a lot of cliffhangers in shows I watch with immediate resolution next season.
