I think because I mix up the Oh Brother song with this one.

What I want from Discovery is to for Spock to start a jam session every episode once he is aboard.

I guess that explains why everything looks different!

I foresee a snow globe in the last episode with Discovery in it. Dissolve to Pike and Vina eating lunch with a horse, shaking said snow globe. Then he wakes up next to Suzanne Pleshette as an Orion slave girl.

Actually, I've always mocked "head canon," but I can use this idea. DSC is all a Pike Dream. Thank you.

I always hear the title in Rom's voice. I also tend to hear the word "sister" in Vader's voice.

Despite all the flashy special effects and big production value, the best part of the whole episode was Stamets little moment watching Culber's message.

I think I finally figured out why I was fairly disappointed with the episode (I only have it a 6). I think it's because it was trying to be too many things. The were bits in the execution where I thought it was trying to be really artsy and pretentious, switching to really cheesy fanwank. I don't mind bits of either, but not combined.
