SPOILERS - Wonder Woman 1984 - Review Thread

In the DC universe, Superman is still the head cheese. WB aren't giving him the screen time

Because every time they do, people piss and moan about everything in the movie. Better to make a cheap TV show to be the target of whiners.

1984..

36 year old Superman in 2020.

When is present day in the DCU if every new movie not set in the past, still only takes place just months after Batman v. Superman (March 2016)?

Why the ###k didn't we see baby Kal-El rocketing toward Kansas?

20somthing Savanah wishing for access to the rock of eternity.

Cloaking device.

He's 33 in 2013. Thus arrived in 1980. Problem solved.

Sliding time.

Even though the actors are getting older, the characters are not, or at least they are ageing much slower...

Was there 4 years DC time between Man of Steel and Justice League, like there was 4 years real time between Man of Steel and Justice League?

The slack between each meandering movie is dragging his birthday/crash day forward.

I saw the movie in a theater. I think the plot was really weak. Having WW fight some robbers in a mall and save some kids from playing in the road was just corny. The first movie blew this one away. I wanted to see WW kick ass like she did in the first movie.

Having said that, I absolutely love Gal Gadot. She completely owns the role of WW (sorry Lynda) and it doesn’t matter how many remakes are done in the future, nobody will compare to her. I know they have one more movie planned for her, I hope the writers give her a better story.

This is exactly the kind of stuff I want to see in these kind of superhero movies, and we really don't get enough of it in modern superhero.
As for the whole rape thing, I know if that would actually apply. The guy might not have been in control of his body, but Steve was, and as far as we know he was in his right might, and pretty clearly consented. I would say for the qualification of rape we would need to know more about how the exchange happened, and what the exact mechanics of it were.
It was definitely wrong, and creepy, but calling it rape seems to be taking it a bit to far for me.

They broached the topic on Stargate Universe with the communication stones.

"We have to respect that these bodies we are in belong to other other people."

And then most of the cast went to bang town for two seasons.

He's asleep.

Buckets of his seed were used.

In fiction, an old movie maybe, I heard this conversation...

"If she doesn't say "no", then it's not rape"

"She was asleep."

"Exactly. She didn't say "no"."

Because DC doesn't want to have to go through the hassle of fans complaining the Kent's didn't go through proper adoption procedures to make sure they were judged proper parents; or that they "cut in line" WRT all the other childless couples waiting to adopt a child? ;)

Lionel Luthor arranged the adoption on Smallville.

They made a story arc out of that hangnail.

This whole situation made think up a theoretical situation, and I'm curious if it would be considered rape.
Let's Dave has dissociative identity this order, and his other personality is named Joe. Sarah meets Joe and they fall in love, Sarah knows that Joe is an alternate personality for Dave, but has no relationship with Dave. If Sarah and Joe have sex, did she rape Dave?

Wonder Woman 1984 is actually the second Wonder Woman production Pedro Pascal has done, he was also in the David E. Kelley pilot. I had no idea he was in that until I saw the article.
He also did a TV pilot that didn't get picked up with Patty Jenkins in 2015.

Jekyl and Hyde.

Banner and Hulk.

John the drunk driver vs. John the sober dude the next day caked in chunks of pedestrians.

Jimmy and Castiel.

Dave and John would have to have come to an agreement about how there penis is used. A treaty. As men they would break it constantly. If Dave was gay and John was straight, that would make it more complicated, depending on the levels of homophobia and hetero phobia Dave and John presented.

Me Myself and Irene.

In that one, both of Jim Carey's personalities wanted the girl, they just wanted her to himself, and they wanted the other one denied.

Stuck on you?

One of the conjoint twins would wait for his brother to go to sleep and then diddle his brother's girlfriend. What awful people.
