Smallville Summer Hiatus Thread III (Spoilers)

Any backstory could easily be done through dialogue between Ollie and the bad guys. You just need one cabbage-head character to be the surrogate for the audience. And, who knows, maybe the story would have him utilize his "green arrow skills" to get out.

At least it would be something different. If you look at Green Arrow's character, he is a bit of a Batman knock-off with a Robin Hood twist. Doing a film like this is an interesting way around this potential negative reaction.

true enough, and its not like Robin Hood came from poverty, as is sometimes thought, himself.

^ Yes. In most versions of the legend, Robin gives up his land and title in order to fight the corruption happening in England.

Well, Robin Hood didn't have a secret identity that he could hide in.

That is where Green Arrow becomes a Batman knock-off. He's a (now) billionaire, has a financially successful company, has a plucky young side-kick, has several "gadget" arrows, has an "arrowmobile", and even the cops have an "arrow signal" in case they need him. Luckily, DC writers revamped him in the seventies to reduce the Bat-comparisons by adjusting him to be more of a social crusader than "gotta stop crime" type hero.

Still, billionaire-turns-hero would look so repetitive to movie goers especially in the wake of both Batman and Iron Man's success.

Nah he's gonna be played by Michael Ironside who will be reprising his role of General Lane of whom Darkseid will be using as his human host.

Episode #10-1: "Lazarus" (Season Premiere)

Fall 2010

UPDATED 6/16/10: Title Posted. Please do not re-post this on other sites without mentioning the title's source (KryptonSite) with a link to the site.
- The term "Lazarus" has been used before on the series, in Season Three, where it was a serum that brought a deceased human back to life for 12 hours, as had happened with Adam Knight. It's also well-known in the DC Comics universe as the "Lazarus Pit" is a term used in Batman comics, usually associated with Ra's Al Ghul. The Pit has rejuvenating abilities that can render someone youthful and nearly immortal. The fourth season premiere of Supernatural was titled "Lazarus Rising" and was about Dean's return to the world of the living, and of course there is the Lazarus referred to in the Christian Bible, a man who was restored to life by Jesus in the Book of John. Perhaps one or all of these things are clues on how Clark will survive his fall.

I mentioned this a few days ago...seems to be up on the site now.

Seems K-Site is applying the Lazarus title to Clark. I honestly don't see Clark's jam of plummeting to his death taking up the entire episode. I wonder if it has more to do with Tess's return since she actually died.

I'm surprised no one was down with my Nuclear Man idea.

See, it's the one character SV could actually improve upon.

Actually, that'd be kinda cool.

I liked it best when he was Russian.

The current bloke was wierd in the beginning with the whole cannibalism angle.

Nuclear Man...hmm which version? The classic Ronnie what'shis name with the Professor or the newer version?

I think the earlier poster was referring to the dreadful character from SUPERMAN IV: THE QUEST FOR PEACE.

But Firestorm would be fun, too.

Only if Ducky comes back as Luthor Jr.

I mean if Charlie Sheen does go to jail, well... Jon might be looking for work.
