Series 12 News & Spoilers

:guffaw:  :guffaw:

The very fact that you repeatedly wish death upon characters (and this isn't the first time you've done that in general) is pretty sad state of affairs. But whatever. Keep on ranting if it helps you get through the day.

The TARDIS has appeared in every Chibnall episode.

at least stay factual, Kirk55555.

anyway, let‘s look at your arguments logically.
only using your own assumptions here.

1. you love Doctor Who.
2. Because 1. you keep watching and „discussing“ here.
3. Chibnall‘s Doctor Who is not Doctor Who.
4. because 3. you don‘t need to watch Chibnall‘s Doctor Who.
Conclusion 1: you watching Chibnall‘s Doctor Who does not take place out of love for the show.
Conclusion 2: you watching Chibnall‘s Doctor Who must have another reason which can not be loving the show.

mind you, this logical chain is based on your two statements:
„I love Doctor Who“ and „Chibnall‘s Doctor Who is not Doctor Who“
Therefore your‘re Statement that you keep watching Chibnall‘s Doctor Who has anything to do with your love for Doctor Who is false.
Or either one of the previous statements is false.

so which is it?

The bit with the cyberman breaking through the tardis door. Liked that bit best.

I'm not sure it is a Cyberman. It looks more like the dark-skinned alien we see around the 15 second mark (and possibly at 4-5 seconds too?).

The "nothing can get into the TARDIS!" rule being breached would be a bit wasted on the Cybes - I'm thinking that's part of the new threat that's coming after the Doctor.

That alien looks a BIT like a Racnoss, which might make sense of how they could get into the TARDIS given their ability to manipulate artron energy. They'd also have a strong motive for revenge on the Doctor...

I don't think that's a Cybe - it's one of those aliens with the star-shaped heads from elsewhere in the trailer, from what I see.
I think you’re right. I watched it huddled around a phone screen and I need new glasses.

Talking Dead, the after show for The Walking Dead which discusses the episodes of Walking Dead immediately after they air with interviews with the actors, producers and celebrity fans of the show is promising news related to Doctor Who in their November 24th episode:

So the "news" on Talking Dead just turned out to be them showing the trailer. I guess it was foolish to expect any kind of real news about Doctor Who on the after show for The Walking Dead, but it still felt like a letdown all the same.
Hopefully even the BBC would restrain Chibnail if he tried that bullshit with some of the really horrible WW2 events, but they seem to mostly let him do whatever shit he wants, only forcing him to add actual Doctor Who aliens from time to time. Based on Rosa last year, The Doctor standing by and watching some real life nazi atrocity unfold (after spending 40 minutes of the episode pretending that there was a Doctor Who plot around it) is a real possibility.
Considering the trailer says they're in Paris in 1943, I suspect that episode will in fact have something to do with the French resistance against Nazi occupation.

Weird that they made a big deal out of it for that show. Why Doctor Who as oppose to...well, any other show?

Honestly, that I don't get. There's the aforementioned thing about BBC America and AMC having the same parent company, but then they've never plugged anything else from BBC America (or indeed any non-AMC show) on Talking Dead before. So, who knows. I guess it's nice Doctor Who is getting some exposure, so at least there's that.

Corporate synergy, and nothing more, IMO. Doctor Who is arguably the biggest show on BBC America. Despite the BBC having the smallest possible majority ownership in BBC America, the New York-based & run network is pretty much "AMC 2" in all but name. In a real sense, Doctor Who has been an American co-production for awhile now. The more attention Doctor Who gets outside of BBC America in the US, the better for all involved.

The bit with the cyberman breaking through the tardis door. Liked that bit best.

I thought it was an apparition that looked like something not unlike a viking. Will check again. Whatever it was, that was a pretty cool bit!

(0:44-5 shows them as white ghostly apparitions, and it's at the 0:47 mark where something is breaking through and I think it's the same monster, it's hard to see but it has something of a pointy helmet head with wider extended bits on the sides - not quite anything like the handlebars but solid. I'm still not certain it is a Cyberman, unless there's a new design not yet revealed (and different from the Cyber head we saw earlier in it)?

(on edit:
I think you’re right. I watched it huddled around a phone screen and I need new glasses.

Just saw this post, lol. It might still be one wearing a suit designed to penetrate the TARDIS. Cyber technology could have been developed... I still think it's a new monster, which I'm hopeful for, but either way I'm getting a fairly strong, good vibe from that teaser. I hope the episodes are as good!)

Cybermen, especially Classic WHO, would make the scene more effective for me as much as the Racnoss might be for new series fans (and me), but a totally new monster - one that might know the Doctor (as part of alluded backstory) and has the technological ability to break through the field from the outside to the inside... I'm definitely hyped enough by that alone. Especially when the Doctor states something's coming for her.

And there's also Paris, 1943...

Given the writer line-up basically works out to an episode by each writer, except Chibnall who'll be doing four, I suspect his four will be two two-parters with everyone else doing single episodes. Hmm, two-part premiere and two-part finale?

Incidentally weren't there rumours of a two-part premiere, with part 1 on January 1 and part 2 on January 4?
