Production Quality Of Picard

Gene did like his miniskirts:

They used the skirt in the kelvin verse trek movies.

Which doesn't make the mini-skirt any less '60s.

You're running on fumes now.

it looked great and no complained about it for all three movies. You’re just trying to justify Picard 21st century look. The clothing was from our century as well as the attitudes of the main characters. I mean they are still saying “dude” 379 years later. Lol! They basically write a story about people in our time, gave them some holographic tech and called it Star Trek. It took them 10 episodes to tell a boring as hell story and the penultimate scene is watching a copy if data’s mind dying with a terrible cgi Data aging. Amazing science fiction not. Other episodes and other franchises have done much better.

Let's admit it we won't be seeing set reconstructions of the Picard sets 50 years from now like we do with the TOS sets.
 At the thought that anyone viewing Star Trek in 1966 thought the Enterprise set was so iconic that it would be remembered and recreated over 50 years after the show’s demise, especially after only the first 10 episodes of TOS. I saw TOS in it’s original run and I don’t recall the sets looking any more futuristic than any other sci-fi space shows and movies of the day.

The show, the stores, the characters, etc are what made those TOS sets memorable. As long as the everything else was on point, and it was, the sets were what they were. They could have looked a lot less futuristic or whatever, and we’d still think those sets were iconic, because the show was iconic. In another 2-6 seasons who knows, the bridge of the La Cirena could get to be the standard for all future Trek bridges.

My overall point is that I think you are placing way too much importance on an area of the show that is much less important than story, characters, etc.

We've already been using it for around 150 years.

Heck, the word "fuck" which is also used in the show has been in use since somewhere between the late 1300's to late 1500's. So it's at least between 445-ish to 650-ish years old. And we still use it.

So your whinge about them using current day words in a show set in the future falls flat on its face. Especially since the word you're harping about has been in use for at least a century and a half already.

So, you don't like it. Oh well. There are other shows out there to enjoy. But, instead there is this insistence to dissect to the point of autopsy, despite the fact that Trek has done things in the past. But, apparently the past is forgivable, while current Trek deserves more...ire? I don't even know any more.

At this point it feels like hate for hate's sake.

That was one of Gene's objectives when he created TOS.

He wanted to use a futuristic setting to comment on contemporary issues.
