My longtime and dear friend Sheralyn. She's a really big fan of the original STAR TREK series as well as the J.J. Abrams film(she likes the other shows and films as well but TOS and the Abrams movie are her favorites) , unbelievably gorgeous and one of the kindest-hearted people I know. She's also hilarious and loves to joke around with her friends and loved ones. Great girl. Absolutely great.

Anyway, this is the picture thread, so I should probably post a picture, right? I'm going to be volunteering at the Toronto Comic Con this weekend

Shoot, I'm going to Ad Astra. (Assuming I get off my ass and book a hotel room, and assuming there are any left. It's not as convenient a commute as it used to be.)

That being said, and acknowledging that this is going to sound awfully egotistical...

That's me with Marina Sirtis (in case you couldn't tell ;)).

My God, someone in Toronto fandom I've never met! (I always sort of assumed our paths had crossed at some con or other, but I don't believe they have. And since my reputation is that I know everyone in Toronto fandom, it's a bit of a shock. ;) )

Marina is still gorgeous 25 years after the beginning of NEXT GEN. Women of Greek and Mediterranean extraction tend to be quite beautiful to begin with, but Marina really looks amazing. You wouldn't know she's in her mid-fifties just looking at that photo. If only Jonathan Frakes could age as gracefully!

Marry her, like, right now!

Yeah, my first thought was "and the catch being?"

Well, she and I are just really good friends. Plus, she just ended a failed relationship that gave her a whole lot of grief and she's just not ready for another one right now if anytime soon. The last one just plain exhausted her and right now she just wants mainly platonic relationships with the opposite sex. It's hard sometimes because she's a huge flirt and sexy as hell...but we're both comfortable with the way things are. Quite honestly her friendship means a lot more to me than a chance to get her in the sack(or go even further).

As a fellow honorable man, I understand. Just don't miss your chance if it appears in the future. Trek girls are oh so few.

Trust me, you're not the first person to remind me of that...and not just for the TREK reason. We'll see what happens, though. If nothing does, well at least we're close friends and we can always keep doing the flirting thing. It's quite sexy fun even if it doesn't lead to anything.

eddie, best of luck whichever direction things go. :techman:

Speaking of luck, that would be me. My bride was already a Trek fan when we met 15 years ago.

From a cruise a few years ago.

This was in St Maartin a couple of summers ago.

And this was in D.C. last spring.

Well then, sorry for giving you a shock. ;)

It's true, I've never had the pleasure of making your acquaintance. Last year's Fan Expo was the first (and, so far, only) convention I've ever attended.

I've been thinking about going to Polaris this year, however. I almost went last year, but when my roommate had to cancel on me, I decided to change my plans.

Hey, maybe I could volunteer at Polaris too. If you have any info about that, just let me know. :)
