Very pretty hair! But like Shanndee said your hair looks amazing either way(I'm more of a shorter-is-more kinda guy when it comes to a woman's hairstyle) and you're a very attractive person.

Agreed with Shanndee and cooleddie, you're adorable TSQ! Plus, I think it's awesome how there are women who can grow hair the length of an entire person. I mean, wow!

Before I hacked off all my hair. Taken in my freshman dorm room. It had been longer, but I cut off about 6 inches my senior year of high school to even it out:

Wow, this pic is really weird to see for me who's only seen you with your short hair cuts. I gotta say I much prefer the shorter styles. But cool that you have the hair type to be able to change it up if you wish :)

Thanks for the welcome J. Allen! I'm sure One-Eyed Jack would appreciate it as well. He is quite an amazing cat. I had always heard that rescue cats seem to know that they have been rescued, and Jack certainly proves that statement on a regular basis!

These pics might interest OdoWanKenobi since we both collect some of the same things. This the newest wave of Hasbro's STAR WARS "Vintage Collection" action figures that I just acquired through my buddy at the local toy shop. These haven't hit retail yet in the United States...my friend got them through a trade with a collector/dealer he knows in California who sometimes gets brand new figures early. It'll probably be a few more weeks or so before these start showing up in any stores. I hope OdoWan likes these...the figure on the far right is the Sith Lord Darth Malgus from the recent OLD REPUBLIC video game and will be very, very hard to find for a lot of people. He'll be packed just one figure per case assortment of 12 and is going to be released just once.

Wow, you had amazing hair the stangequark! But I have to say that I absolutely love your new haircut. The pixie cut is adorable and frames your face really well.

I wish I had the courage to cut my hair like you did. (Well, not a pixie cut, I don't have the face shape for it...just something different...)

You have great hair either way. It must be nice to be able to carry off both extremes so well!

I definitely prefer the hair gone! Having that much hair was just a pain in the ass, and didn't really suit my personality anyway. Cutting one's hair can be really liberating!

Welcome to you! And your adorable cat!

Cutting one's hair can be really liberating!

This is so true. I felt a lot better once I went bald. I hated how I looked with hair.

It has been my experience (as someone whose hair began receding in his early 20s) that other people seem to have more of an issue with baldness/premature balding than I do.

I made my peace with genetics long ago and haven't given it much thought. It's only when other people seem uncomfortable about it when the topic comes up, and in these cases only because they think I'm] uncomfortable or insecure about it, when really I'm just like, "Bitch please. It's hair."

Then I remember - a lot of these same people imbue much of their self-worth and that of others mostly based on how good they look or how good they perceive themselves to look compared to the societal or cultural ideal. RedFenix, for example, once had just such a reaction to me and I realized it was much bigger a deal for her than it was for me.

Anywho... I guess if you want to look at it from a positive standpoint, I no longer place such importance on looks as opposed to character when assessing someone. And while it does bother me a little that there are people out there (especially potential dates/lovers) who might otherwise be just fine and perfect for me and I for them if I only had a mop full of hair on top, I don't know that I'd really want to associate with them if that one characteristic - completely out of my own control - was a dealbreaker.

Plus, I love being able to tell people "I'm not balding, I just get lots of head."

I don't know if I would have cared if I'd started *going* bald. I probably would have, though, I won't lie. I just made a choice to shave my head and never looked back.

On Saturday I was at the magnificent Oakland Paramount Theater to see the U.S. premier of Kevin Brownlow's restoration of Abel Gance's 1927 epic Napoleon (5.5 hours long, with three intemissions!) accompanied live by 46 musicians of the Oakland East Bay Symphony.

During the first intermission, as I walked along the mezzanine, I saw a familiar face...

I hadn't seen him in person since I interviewed him on the Paramount lot in mid 1990...almost 22 years ago!

I love it Doubleohfive! Can I pass this one on to my husband?

Great pic, Shanndee!

So even when you're not pressed to Jeffrey Combs, your smile is bright and lovely.

Not too big for my face this time Miss Lemon? :guffaw: Good to know!

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Cheers!

Oh, absolutely! I just got a chuckle out of it at the time (and still do!)

<continues to chuckle>

Cheers!

Hello Everyone!

I think that there are about 5 people on this board who know me, so I'd like to introduce myself. Here I am, with One-Eyed Jack, the pirate cat:

So, I say hello everyone, and the pirate cat says Arrr.
Great pic, Shanndee!

lol. I was just thinking the same thing. Great picture Shanndee! And I love your name :)

Thanks GemHaters! That shiny black "scarf" around my neck certainly makes the picture, but I'll happily accept comments about a bright smile! (...and my name...thanks!)

Cheers!
