PICTURE POST!

Very lovely paintings. I hope things get better for you soon.

So since I had the day off today I went to the park with my wife and daughter and decided to bring my camera along so I could try out the new lens I got for my birthday. As luck would have it it was right around 11:00 and we got to see a flyby of some WWII era fighters so I snapped a few pics.

You can actually make out the pilots at full resolution which you can see by clicking on the picture.

There was also a formation of choppers that went by overhead but I haven't gotten to them yet.

^ Dude, that's awesome. What kind of camera is it?

Ditto! That is an amazing pic!

And Kelso, the 18-200 lenses really aren't that heavy or long (for almost-super zooms); they're designed to be a good "walk around" lens. My 75-300, on the other hand .... :rommie:

^That is too cool! Thank you! I had to stop selling through DeviantArt, because I don't have the money for the fee. With Etsy it's just the 20 cents, which is much more manageable, even if there's no longer the convenience of having the print production done for me.
You don't need to have a premium membership to sell through deviantArt. I sell some jigsaw puzzles (and a couple of other things) there, because I still can't do jigsaw puzzles through my regular store. In fact, I just checked and you still have several posters on sale on deviantArt. Anyway, the bubbles are a little expensive for me now, but I will do some shopping tomorrow and pick something up. :)

I had no idea! Good to know, and I suppose I'll have to get back to maintaining that page as well. One thing I do prefer about Etsy, though, is that I can sell original paintings and not just prints, and that I get paid no matter how much $ I make. I've never gotten any money from DeviantArt, for example, because I've not made the minimum amount to receive payment. But exposure certainly can't hurt!

I'm contemplating offering different kinds of prints. One of the reasons the prices are so high is the cost of high-quality fine art printing. Even with the discounts I get, producing a full size print of the bubble chamber painting, for example, costs anywhere from $50-$150, depending on the type of paper used. If I use different types of paper I can possibly offer prints at lower costs, but unfortunately, as I am on public assistance until I can find new work (I can't even get unemployment because I was employed as an independent contractor, goddammit), I don't really have the means to expand.

The minimum amount thing can be a pain. But you might want to think about doing things like jigsaw puzzles or mugs at deviantArt-- people love stuff like that and Christmas is coming. ;) And, of course, your paintings would make great puzzles.

Yeah, you need to spend money to make money. That's the problem I have with advertising. I hope you're able to find some work soon. :(

The rear plane is a Spitfire, but I don't recognize the front one. Warbird fail.

So that's what happened to Horn Rimmed Glasses Guy!

The front plane is a Corsair, the rear is actually a P-51, it's just dressed up in RAF regalia.

Nice pic, Seeker!
